  1. Hello, I am requesting that my steam id, STEAM_0:1:377578 removed from your banned list. I honestly don't remember what I did to get on this list since it was over 6 months ago and I haven't played much since then. I was running with a rough crowd back then (m2, dirtybird, sim, you know the type) but I am positive gamer now and I won't act out again. thanks, lux
  2. Just a few minutes ago I was playing on Recrud as a CT on Dust. At the end of one round, a certain CT was the only one left, and rather than try and defuse, he just was wandering around. At the beginning of the next round, I said something like, "Nice job on that defuse attempt, how about trying next time." My comment provoked a gc admin to warn me to "stop whining." My first point is this: If you truly believe that teamwork is required as you so frequently advertise, and you believe that the map objectives are the most important aspect of the game, then shouldn't the admin be yelling at the person who ignored the map objectives and not the person who admonished said clueless CT? One round later, that same gcadmin was the last CT alive with an autosniper and he killed 3 or 4 in a row and then died as he was moving towards the bomb. In team chat I typed, "wow" and that was all. I was immediatly kicked from the server. When I returned I was told that I had to get rid of the sarcasm or I would be kicked again. The admin assumed that my "wow" comment had been a sarcastic response to his death but it was not. Even if it was, since when is Sarcasm a kickable offense on GC servers? I got a warning for whining when I yelled at a teammate for not trying to complete the map objectives, hardly a whine in my opinion. And then I got kicked without a warning for sarcasm, for typing "wow" I think the fact that the admin had just died and was most likely angry had something to do with his kneejerk response to kick me. For me the big question here is, Are xT members being targeted by GC admins? The admin had a very short fuse today when it came to me and I wonder if the recent situation with IV has anything to do with that. I am not trying to start a war or suggest some sort of conspiracy but I think that kicking someone for what I did today is WAY out of line and I would like an apology.
  3. Papers Please!! GG Asscroft.
  4. Too bad there isn't a plugin or something that can just ban people who tk within the first 10 seconds of a round. I know there is a variable that lets the server slay people who attack within 5 seconds or so, but the auto-kick/ban for tks in spawn would be nice. The only time it might be an accident is on D2 where people snipe up the middle right away. .L.
  5. I echo the headmaster on this one, all you kids get naked! Best line of this entire thread. -lux
  6. Wow... If you download Ich's demos and watch them you will see nothing unusual, because your non-divx 7.0 settings will render the demo without the special valve see-through boxes. gg valve.
  7. I know these threads can be annoying but in this case I feel it is necessary. On Sunday, Sept 11th between 12 and 1:15pm cst, the following occured: Map: Dust_2 Bomb planted at B, 6 or so Terrorist still alive and just one CT, who had an awp and may have been afk/camping ctspawn for a bit during the round. He was slow to react to the bomb plant but he was moving towards B. An admin warned him that the bomb was not going to defuse itself. within 10 seconds of this warning some of the remaining Ts went into ct spawn looking for him. He was near the boxes on the side of ct spawn entrance and took out 3 of the Ts with close range awp shots. Just after killing the third he was slain by an admin. Warning a player about map objective is fine and often necessary. Slaying a player who is in the midst of combat and moving towards the correct bombsite is abusive and cruel, and its not the first time I have seen this type of behavior from this person. Please don't let impatience affect the severity of your administrative techniques. I am not mentioning any names because I believe this to be the only admin slaying during the time period and I am not trying to pick a fight with anyone. I contacted a lead admin for server #1 about this so there is no need to hash it out here. -Lux
  8. Please don't get defensive. I did not mean it as a criticism of your current policies. I am a community member here and I have just as much interest in making play better as anyone because I want all to enjoy playing. I am trying to open discussion into a "hot topic" and examine how the current fix can cause as many problems as the problem itself. I agree that 10 rounds is not long to wait, that there is no perfect solution, and I don't need an admin on to make my experience worthwhile, I often try to balance the teams myself no matter who is on. I FULLY agree with Fatty that "2) Switching teams all the times is rediculous." Because I think the goal is for rounds to be competetive, not one sided. When too many people switch teams in order to help out the losing team, it just creates this see-saw effect where there is never any balance. If what I posted was a whine, then I would love to see an example of an intelligently worded opening discussion. My first point was that you cannot judge any sort of balance from the team scores. So a team that is "behind" could be all people who joined or switched in the last 2 rounds. There can be a lot of turnover and so the only way to judge balance is by indiviual scores. So I purposely took Screenshots where strong players had switched to the team that was "behind" only to overpower the "losing" team. My point to all; Don't worry about the team score if the rounds have been close, only worry when it is a clear domination, and even in that case be careful not to go too for towards pumping up the weaker team with power players. Try to avoid the see-saw effect. Sorry if I was not clear enough in my first post. -lux
  9. Hello, Let me start off by saying I am not trying to vilinize any one player or group of players. I want to address the problem of teamstacking on the GC servers. The admin of this organization, through their wise and rational policies, have elemeniated many of the negative social and ethical elements which one often encounters while participating in any online gaming venture. That being said, I trust that they will continue to explore all options when dealing with any problem, especially one as sensitive and complex as this one. I. An outline of the problem. I think that at one point in all of our CS lives we have participated willingly in a teamstack. It is where many powerful players play on the same side and the result is domination of the opposing team. This is the typical type of teamstack. The second type of teamstack occurs when powerful players recognize a one-sided match and too many of them try to compensate by switching. What happens here is just as bad, as the team that was getting dominated begins to dominate and continues to do so until the score is even or in many cases beyond that point. (Remember, the object (imho) is to achieve balanced play as quickly as possible and maintain that throught the match) Although this result is caused by good will, it often results in a frusterating experience for both teams during a map. The reason for this is that the medium skilled and lower skilled players suffer the worst from any type of teamstacking. II. Identifying the Problem. I think one of the mistakes we make in looking for a teamstack is putting too much weight on the team (CT-T) scores. Team score is a good indicator up until people start switching teams or joining the game halfway into a map. For instance, (see example 1 below) If the cts start out the map strong and go 3-0, then the two strongest ct playres switch. You join the game and see that the score is 3-0 and you join the Ts, even though the majority of the talent is on that team. Anyone looking at the team score would think the Cts were winning but in fact the Ts have 5 players with rations above 1:1 (3 that are well above) while the Cts only have 2 above the 1:1 ratio. Therefore, my first proposed axiom that the only indication of team strength (in the moment) is an analysis of individual player scores. What happened in this screenshot is exactly as I described above in senario 2. 38||innom and Col.Sanders started out strong on the CT side and when the CTs went 4 and 0 they switched so that they could help out the weaker team. In doing so, they turned the tides completly and stacked in the opposite direction. I think about it like this. When comparing the strength of the teams. Each noob is worth one strength point, Average skilled players are worth 3, Pubmasters are worth 5, and Cal-M regs like 38||innom are worth 7. This is not hard and fast because everyone has their bad days. So combine that system of points with an analysis of scores and you will always have an accurat feeling for which side needs help. My second axiom is that the most skilled players should not be the ones switching from team to team. If the strength comparison is CT18-T24 and one of those 7 point monsters switches sides it becomes CT25-T14. Its even worse in the opposite direction. Teams should be balanced by moving the middle skilled players with positive ratios. When someone who is 20-5 or something switches teams, its a huge loss to one team and a huge gain to the other. UNLESS, there are 4 or 5 people on one team with 20-5 ratios, (see example 2) The same thing happened in this SS, even though the T side is winning 8-6, the CT side is VASTLY stacked because some of the stronger players on T went CT to help out and in doing so unbalanced the teams even worse than they were before. III. Possible Solutions. I know the GC admin and regular members as well are encouraged to always play the strong side and to help balance the teams when they recognize an imbalance but I don't think these techniques are being intelligently employed. Here are a few possible solutions: A. Admin, instead of having the most skilled player switch, should be moving middle players over to the weaker team until it is balanced. Skilled players should be more careful about trying to help out the other team as they might not really be helping achieve balance. B. Download some of the server software that looks at every aspect of gameplay and automoves people in order to balance teams. If any of you have ever played on a server with this plugin you can comment on how it works. C. Disable the team-join and team-switch options. The only options should be auto, and you cannot switch teams in the middle. If the auto process results in a stacked team. An admin can move people around, OR the blowout round limit should be adjusted to 5 or 7. The blowout limit ensures that a stacked team can only last a few rounds and they the cards get shuffled again. I am in favor of options C, cause I HATE people who come in and join the stronger team. Remember, I am not trying to accuse people or yell at admins or anything like that. The people in the screenshots are just examples and not actual people. I do not deny that I have done some teamstcking and if if you have a ss of me teamstacking feel free to post it and make me look like a hypocrite. Thanks for reading my rant, I should have been doing laundry but I did this. Yours, Lux
  10. Hey, can you guys remove inferno until the bugs are worked out... as anyone who has played it lately knows, the thing freezes all the time and has a horrible load time. -lux
  11. For another perspective.... I love the GC servers, although, it sucks to own in Recrud and then go do a cal scrim and get my butt kicked. I feel like a noob again. It is amazing the spectrum of skill in this game. -lux
  12. ???? I was not there but it looks like the guy was named PressF10 and the Admin was telling him to change his name. Anyway the wording of your post did not clearly convey your meaning. Course, you are the same guy who posted complaining about Csls having practices on stock when we have our own server for practice, so I should probably not try to find any insightful analysys of the situation in your post. -lux
  13. Hello, I know I look like a dork when I talked about problems with the stats page. Purists don't care about stats.... etc... we use some recrud stats for tracking clan member performance. Yes, I know that pub skills and cal skills do not go hand in hand...but anyway we like to gleam some info from that stuff. Anyway, none of the recrude stats have updated since may 5th. The page says it is uploading normally but it is not importing information.(click on any player and you will see their last login was on May 5th or earlier) It could be that the recent Steam update has caused the problem. I expect someone to respond with "Strangefamous handles that" but he has not been around lately so if someone could look into it it would be great. Thanks, Lux
  14. i hate living in wisconsin, beaver dam to be exact.... madison is about the only city worth being in.
  15. There has been alot of team attacking and team killing on the servers lately. I know that some of it is accidental but is it possible to take a stronger stance against this activity. I know that if you tk someone in the first moments of a round you are autokicked but why not do this for any tk at anytime. I'd like to see the more inexperienced or immature players take even accidental tking seriously so that they can learn to improve that kind of negligence. In short, let's encourage people to use radar by giving that quick slap on the wrist for each tk. I would love to see a 5 minute ban on every early round tk and an autokick on every battle tk. I know that sometimes someone runs in front of you and you cannot help but blow their head off but at least it raises awareness about the importance of not shooting your teammates. -lux
  16. Hello all, This guy, 1351 "Tamere" STEAM_0:0:6323690 03:45 119 0 active needs to be banned, he tked me for my gun today, point blank, hs, no accident. In other news, I am #1 on the new server.....for not very long probably but its something. -Lux
  17. Well, I guess the ban from one server is now a ban from both servers. Out of frusteration, I knifed a teammate who I thought was blocking a door I know that this was a mistake and I normally do not do that kind of thing. Please accept my apology. -Lux
  18. Hi, I got banned because I knifed a guy on my team. He was blocking the entire team from going down a hallway on office and he would not move so I gave him a slash to the back. I was quickly banned and I wondered how long this will last? Thanks Lux
  19. Minimum requirements is not the issue. Psychostats will not recognize a clan unless it sees a common sequence of letters and symbols. If a clans name contains no symbols, it will not be recognized. In the case of Inspired`. The ` symbol was not enough to get us in the clan category even when we had 6 members in the top 100 on this stats page. .gc works though so I guess it is a problem with the ` key or the fact that there was no space to deliniate between name and clan in Inspired`smartpants. learn from me, lux
  20. Just wanted to mention that the stats page has not updated since July 20th. Do you have it set to compile once a week or something? If so could you set it to update once a day at 3 a.m. I know its not that big a deal and most people claim not to care, but if you are going to have a stats page it might as well work properly... lux
  21. Hello All, Returning from Europe, I was depressed to find that some of the members of Inspired had deserted or been recruited by more "cool" clans. Anyway, we have a well organized website, forum, and we have our own private server. I am looking for people who dont have to worry about their parents pulling the plug out during a match. We are a cal-o clan and we will be playing in season 12. Registration starts July 30th just so you know. So please send me an email at arcadelt7777@yahoo.com or go the the forums at inspired.fragism.com for more information. Lux
