  1. Provantage has the APC Back-UPS RS Series BR900 for $73.05. I paid $89 shipped (weighs about 20lbs). Retail is $150. I ordered on Friday and received it first thing this morning. Provantage ships from regional warehouses. Provantage is great on price and they ship quickly but they are bad about sending the tracking number. Not really a problem for me (work from home), but just something to keep in mind if you pick one up. Quick Specs: 900VA 540 Watts 4 Outlets - Battery backup 3 Outlets - Surge only Main reason I bought it was for this... I almost picked up the BX900 but the XS series only comes with Boost and no Trim. Really need that as we frequently get power spikes here. Also the RS series has ethernet protection added in. Bundled software is nice for monitoring the unit. With just my comp, monitor, router, & cable modem attached I draw 320Watts on idle. Can't wait to see what that looks like when the vid card kicks in and all 4 hard drives are spinning. A great feature is the ability to set incoming 120V warning levels. I tweaked my levels to 136V (high) & 104V(low). Currently incoming is at 125V. Also the ability to disable the alarms when the computer is off is a nice touch (not like my computer is ever off). Probably gonna pick up another to replace my cheapo 600VA ups that is protecting my hdtv/cablebox/htpc/ps2/ps1 setup downstairs.
  2. Predator quotes: Blaine: "Son of a b**** is dug in like an Alabama tick." Mac: "You're ghostin' us, m*****f*****. I don't care who you are back in the world, you give away our position one more time, I'll bleed ya, real quiet. Leave ya here. Got that?" Blain: "I ain't got time to bleed." Billy: "I'm scared Poncho." Poncho: "Bulls***. You ain't afraid of no man." Billy: "There's something out there waiting for us, and it ain't no man. We're all gonna die." Blain: "This place makes Cambodia look like Kansas..."
  3. I have to use Macs for work. Almost any usb mouse will be supported. Left click = click, Right click = control+click. Most Logitech USB mice will work great if they use the Logitech Control Center for OS X. That driver lets you set up your mouse buttons. from Logitech® Optical Mouse USB Software page Just find the Logitech mouse you like and then make sure it has a Mac driver. Note some of the laser's don't have mac drivers.
  4. That was 90 indoors!!! Stupid A/C! Fixed today though...chilling at 72.
  5. Basically it is your kill/death rank vs the other players. By clicking on the map details, you can see how much your ranking changed for that map. Just because you got 100 kills in a map it doesn't mean your rank will go up. You can have 200 points on a map and have your ranking drop if you are a node monkey like me. High kill/death ratio vs quality oppenents is what ya want to get your ranking to go up. Take a look at wiki: ELO rating system, if you are bored. Oh yeah N degree means the number of players that are "North" of you for alltime, month, week, etc... Ice cream? PLEASE! It's like 90 here!
  6. Redirect server is slow.... Sustained rate of 10K/sec with bursts upto 20K. Decrease in available bandwidth? or being hit alot by CSS & UT?
  7. That mobo temp is a bit warm but suggests you have ok airflow. Guessing improper heatsink installation or a heatsink with a high C/W rating. From cold to crash in 20 secs, points to low quality heatsink or too much goop applied. If you had poor heatsink contact, you may crash or worse faster than that.
  8. Nice work on this map. Pretty good on framerates considering the size. Also nice decision by map designer to make the nodes all 60% from full health (taken down with 3 shock balls and 1-2 link shots). Without reducing the node health, you would have to worry about 5 rounds of overtime. Nice find Flitter.
  9. Depends on our CPU but general rule for modern processors is sub 50C. Ideal would be sub 40C for CPU and sub 35C for mobo.
  10. Well done Cannon!!! That email is definetly fridge-worthy!
  11. All the interviewers for the stage demos are horrible!!! During the AGEIA PhysX stage demo, they just cut off the CEO right as he was about to show more stuff. TERRIBLE! BTW, get your AGEIA PhysX card for the low low price of $299! WHAT?!?!? That's more than my vid card. Oh well... I wonder if anyone has built a 800Watt+ gaming beast yet with 2 7900GTX's, Aegia Physix, & 805D overclocked to 4GHz.
  12. E3 Stage Demos Click on Unreal Tournament 2007 E3 2006 Stage Show Demonstration. About 13 mins but has good detail about how Warfare mode will work. After 3:30 minute mark or so they start showing the game. Video highlights: 3:30 Footage starts showing terrain 4:05 Weapons locker & base 4:39 Terrain destruction?!? 5:20 Hover boards! Woot! Hopefully this means no more walking across those huge BACONing maps. 6:20 Hellbender. Seems pretty quick and responsive 6:35 Goliath drive-by 6:58 New Turret shooting at Necris vehics. 7:45 Talks about Vehicle CTF with Vehics and Hoverboards instead of translocators. No weapon while on hoverboard. 7:50 Walkers!!! Run for the hills!!! 11:15 Talks about match making & clan support within the game??? Will help noobs know which servers to join based on skill level. Hopefully that'll cut down on the "Wentz Hacks" comments.
  13. I don't think it is ONSPlus. We have had that up forever and not had these kind of problems. I say drop the stats & stat enhancements and see how things roll.
  14. Crashed out during ArticStronghold at around 8:40pm with 8-10 people playing. It was 20 secs before overtime started.
  15. Woot! Now I need to finish work early so I can pad my stats!
  16. Open air is Great! I have Logitech Precision PC Gaming and offer great sound for the price. Since they are behind-the-head, I had to retire them after I got a high back office chair. Switched to Plantronics .Audio 110 (~$35) which are also open-air design. 5 months of heavy use and no problems. Hard to find .Audio 110 now tho, maybe ebay.
  17. Online deals are best but for ASAP I would say check out your local Circuit City. Circuit City Drive Deals Most are good deals but after rebates.
  18. Definite phising attempt. Paypal will never email you like that. Mouseover the url (don't click on it) and look in your status bar and you will see this is not from paypal. BTW, paypal has a phising department to report this too. Don't remember what is it exactly called but you can go to paypal directly by typing paypal.com in your browser and then check in customer service.
  19. Nevermore-LE or Primeval (i know... i know...)
  20. Just hopped in new Chi-Town server and no P/L and my ping never went above 40. Not bad from up here in New England. Though that was 5 bots and off peak hours. All admin stuff in place so other admins remember to add another Webadmin bookmark. Let's try and fill it up during peak tonight if we can. Hey Flitter, when the new Private server is up would it be ok for me to do a ServerSide DemoRec test? We should get in the habit of using it if we have it. Also, can we get an admin ftp user/pass for demo folder on server or do you have to ferry those to us?
  21. CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) - $119 after $40 MIR Doh, now sold out... I purchased another set of these over the weekend. I have had great success with the 512 XMS kit and also 1024 XMS kit and I couldn't pass up the 2gig for $119.
  22. Having a nice fur and a fluffy tail doesn't stop it from being a RAT!
  23. Yeah it was really bad for Gorg. For most everyone else things seemed to be going well with an average of 10-20 increase in pings until we filled up Severance. It got very choppy. Most GC playing were in TS so everyone at once started talking about lag. Watched "stat net" while I played all night last night and there was no packet loss (great thing!). Considering this was a straight dump of our other box, 1st guess would be bandwidth then I wonder if we are as alone as we were before when we could hog all processing power.
  24. Just finished playing on SCK server and found out this bit of news... They are fed up with the PL and from what i hear it is not even as bad as ours. So they are moving their server. They are going to stay with Viper but going to move to TX datacenter. Their server should go down and reappear with new IP sometime this week. By now, we know the line providers are the problem and not Viper. But the problem is the providers aren't going to fix the problem anytime soon so seems like the only solution is different datacenter if Viper can manage that or possibly different company to rent from.
