Having been one of the first starting out at around 6, all I have to say is that the evening ended up with some very, very, very, very good matches and great teams. I have to admit that it has been a LONG time since I have had that much fun (especially getting pwned by Flitter and his flying machines). I just wish I was able to play longer - Christmas with the inlaws is today and we're just leaving... I'm going to try to be on tonight (sans drinks though). BTW - Wentz indicated he needs a Christmas present. He said he needs a microphone. But, a working computer is the first step

I've had Dish for almost two years and haven't had any problems - you just have to have someone that knows what the heck they are doing install it, and make sure your wife doesn't want you to mount it so that the trees are in the way... My neighbor has DirectTV, and has had a devil of a time with it in the winter. The big thing that anyone with any satellite service must understand though is that heavy high clouds (big storms) will block the signal. So if the weather is bad... There are solutions for the local channel issues though - you can get a "hoop" antenna that attaches around the dish and then feed that signal to the second input of the decoder box. The weather issue doesn't bother me though - Dish has been more reliable than the mom-and-pop cable company that our city uses (and go figure - Comcast is all around us). I haven't gone HD (yet), but will probably do so in the future. For the local programming I will probably use an external HD antenna, either on the roof or in the attic.

I am thinking of all the GC folks. Really! Well, just have to pop in and say hi from the nice HOT and SUNNY Dominican Republic. The heat index was 102 yesterday. I certainly was nice leaving before all the nice weather rolled in. And of course, we get to leave today, so I get to go back to the wonderful weather you all have enjoyed lately! (I think CNN said the high in Detroit is in the 30s today).

What am I thankful for? Hmm.... maybe being able to be associated with (and have a great time with) such a diverse online community! And the normal stuff like my health and wellbeing - and ditto for all GC. And thankful for Duke and his family. Best wishes all. Since I can't join w84time, he could always send the Bass!
