  1. I reserved my room the other night and didn't have any problems. The group code for FF was there and worked great.
  2. If you start talking like that, we'll have to get, er... bribe the boss to get the beer girls out there...
  3. Just make sure to smuggle.....er "transport" certain unavailable beverages and then everyone will be begging to sit at B
  4. From South Lyon, MI mapquest says it should be about 198 miles. Of course, it gets me lost even trying to get me out to the freeway! Ain't technology wonderful?
  5. Actually, those that are married don't get "fat". We just enjoy the cooking. Besides, it seems the only thing we do loose is our hair! Lots o' happy bliss tou ya!
  6. Sorry, I only hack. If anyone needs someone to make thier score look good, let me know! Of course, if there is a cart with a cooler in it, I can be a very good chauffeur. I can even perform professional tasting duties to make sure it isn't poisoned. I guess the links is the only place you can (legally) drive drunk. (no pun).

    Um

.... you gotta love good advertising......
  8. How about using some of that iron-on printer paper? Would that work? Just a thought - and no, I haven't used it before either...
  9. I might have to do my part in representing the higher end of the age curve... We'll see what happens! It certainly would be nice to put faces to some of those that I seem to curse from time to time. It would be nice to "curse" you (you know who you are!) in person too!
  10. If anyone happens to be interested (contact me offline)..... I just upgraded and have an 8 month old XFX AGP 6600GT with 128MB DDR3 memory. It has 2 DVI and SVideo out. Since I upgraded to a MB with PCIE, I can't use it. So, it's on the block. I havevn't had any problems with it, and the heat sink is still secure - so you shouldn't have any probelms. Thanks!
  11. Funny you should mention the word "upgrade"... I will be upgrading in the near future (going 64 XP). My current video card is an XFX 6600GT (AGP), and I have been pretty happy with it. Since the new MB is PCI-E, I need to get a new video card. So, what should I look at? I have been thinking of staying with the 6600GT, but they are only available with 128MB on the PCI-E interface. Should I look at getting a pair and using SLI, or just go with a 6800GT with 256MB? Ideas? Thoughts? Thanks.
  12. Pretty good. Almost as good as the guy that "described" the traffic accident when a grandma was beating a guy over the head with a bible!
  13. Couple of things.... I just received a XFX 6600GT (upgraded from a Ti 4200) and love it. It does run a bit hot but I'm working on that. I have been running HL2, CS:S and UT4K and haven't noticed anything - except awesome graphics. A few things do come to mind in regards to the performance issues. I agree with everyone else and their comments about memory. IF your mobo/processor can handle it, upgrade to 1G of the fastest memory you can handle - then check to see what your AGP aperture size is. SIS had a specific problem with their motherboards and the XFX 6600GT card. Turns out they had to release specific drivers for it. Since the 6600GT is new, you might be seeing a problem with your mobo, so all I can say is check their website (sorry!). The only thing I noticed withthe 6600GT is that it has a nasty tendency to idle hot (47C?). I am looking on changing or modifying the heatsink/fan, but haven't found anything that indicated that it will work the the 6600GT. Does anyone know if any heatsink or cooling solutions for the 6800 series would work on the 6600? I'm trying to see if the Artic NV Silencer 5 would work. BTW - Anandtech did a review on a bunch of 6600GT cards and indicated that there can be problems with the manufacturer supplied heatsinks and fans - especially with the way they are attached. Read the article for additional information http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2295 HTH.
  14. It certainly is nice to know that I certainly haven't influenced the age curve any. Isn't there anyone out there that would admit to the "higher" end of the scale? OTOH - yep, there might be those of us whom are a bit more advanced, but it certainly makes a good end to a rather sh**** day. Beats shooting the boss. Now if I could only get more of you Manta drivers.....

  16. Wireless is great. Just make sure that you use 128bit WEP and an SSID with open authentication. The other thing to make note of is the fact that microwave ovens and 2.4GHZ phones operate in the same spectrum, so your connection will either get dropped or be seriously degraded. Because of this, you might want to give .11a a go. The only problem though is that you may have coverage problems based upon what manufacturer you use. Also, the max power of .11a is 30mW whereas power ratings of up to 200mW aren't too uncommon in 802.11b.
  17. I too am a plantronics guy. of course, if I could find a way to add a mic to my Sony MDR-V6s, I'd be really happy!
