  1. Hate to bug you fellas but I need help. I've asked my pals around here that know about music this question but they can't seem to help. I'm looking for bands that have the, describing it my best here, in your face guitar solos. They have suggested a few but I didn't really like them. One even suggested Lamb of God, don't know why?? They have guitar solos? Right now for reference the best I've heard were Diamond Head's: The Prince and Am I Evil? Also Metallica with No Remorse. They don't have to be the faster solos like the 3 bands I used up above. I just like guitar solos.
  2. see, i told you they'd do a vinyl ;p http://www.sonymusicstore.com/store/catalo...tmouse-shipsank album of the year!
  3. Anyone hear of this band? I like them a lot. I'd say they're like Evanescence but more goth influence. They hail from Dutchland Vid
  4. Just an early heads up as this makes it's way public. Ozzfest is free this year. Yep. -Fk
  5. I'm so excited, I just bought THIS on eBay for 659$, retails for 1200$ I can't wait til it gets here =DD
  6. if you like hip hop (i.e. not rap) with good beats, grab this. 160kbps.mp3, ~40mb. free + legal music. support it. http://organologymusic.com/Son_of_Ran_Sky_City.zip previews @ http://www.myspace.com/skycityallstars sj
  7. <edit>whoops spelled reunion wrong. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/articl...t_id=1003537232 van halen with david lee roth reunites Hot for teacher! first time playing together in 20 years? bet you these tickets will be more than the rolling stones 40th reunion tour? also for your info: black sabbath the original members of heaven and hell are going on tour also http://www.black-sabbath.com/news/index.html Putting to bed the longstanding rumours of a reunion tour, Heaven and Hell have announced their first tour dates for 2007. The tour will feature 11 Canadian shows, along with an exciting one-night-only performance at one of the most prestigious venues in the world, New York's Radio City Music Hall. Heaven and Hell reunites Tony Iommi with Ronnie James Dio, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice for the first time in 15 years.
  8. hip hip hooray. finally, canadian music redeems itself. (we still blame you for brian adams and celine dion) http://www.tokyopoliceclub.net/ http://www.myspace.com/tokyopoliceclub
  9. Their an Italian rock group I believe, though it's difficult to tell their Italian from listening to their songs. I purchased their last two albums from iTunes, and they sounds great! If you enjoy Evanescence or Flyleaf, listen to a few songs from Lacuna Coil.
  10. i'm on an indie kick this week. live horns + sax. it's like neutral milk hotel meets radiohead. kinda. http://www.tvontheradio.com http://www.myspace.com/tvotr
  11. alt/indie/pop rock imo, the killers meet the pixies meet superchunk. good stuff. not a new release, but new to me. http://www.silversunpickups.com/ http://www.myspace.com/silversunpickups
  12. So I've been working/playing with Adobe Audition for a couple years now, and I'm getting pretty decent with the program. I got a second EMG put into my electric (a squier, now has an 81 and an 85), and have been doing some recording. -Squier, 2 emg's -Line6 Spider II (2x12) -Behringer B2 Pro -Behringer Eurorak (12 input) -X-Fi Platinum -Boss DR770 for drums -BC Rich Beast (bass) That's the stuff I've been using for recording, but the thing I really suck at is mastering. Can anyone give any tips/point me in the direction of a nice little read that's not TOO technical? Thx! Laz, if you read this, I'm still waiting to hear your stuff...
  13. Now, i'm a big Op. Ivy fan... just wondering if any others are among this community.
  14. mark yer calenders. 1/9/2007, new mos def. from what i've heard, it's got some old school funk, kinda like the same j5 did with feedback. i haven't heard anything about dave matthews on the new mos yet, though....which is good. apparently he does call out bono for being a "voice for the voiceless" but not doing a thing about the katrina refugees, which is great. worth $13.88 from amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Tru3-Magic-Mos-Def/d...TF8&s=music
  15. if you're a hip hop head, you can't deny this: http://www.myspace.com/skycityallstars be sure to check the tribute to skycity video -sj
  16. TheGeek

    Saosin

If you haven't checked out this band yet, do so. They just came out with a new cd this year and its great. I kinda like their old cd better. http://www.purevolume.com/saosin The song Seven Years is from their old cd. The other are from the new cd.
  17. http://www.deathcabforcutie.com/ There used to be a regular with the name Death Cab, but I'm referring to his namesake band. Any fans? I've got tickets for the show tomorrow at the Joint at Hard Rock Casino. I've never seen them but I've been a fan of the music--it's a small venue but I'm not sure if they're going to be a good concert band.
  18. i can't claim this one. my bud aaron boodman over @ youngpup shared them with me. if you're into jazz, especially experimental/acid (think: medeski, martin, & wood), give these guys a listen. i think "these are the vistas" is the most melodic and easiest to listen to album. http://www.myspace.com/badplus http://www.thebadplus.com
  19. if you were to mix: foo fighters, built to spill, queens of the stone age, and at the drive in, you'd be here. meet "minus the bear." http://www.minusthebear.com/go.php?g=28Go39nU http://www.myspace.com/minusthebear and i'm going to see them in san francisco TONIGHT!
  20. ...and this week it's free (legally)! http://www.freddiejoachim.com/music.html
  21. I just picked up Rather Ripped by Sonic Youth. . . . WOW! the album is fantastic. Reminds me of Daydream Nation. I have been fairly lukewarm on some of their more recent stuff (like goo and dirty, I haven't listened to sonic nurse yet) However, I really REALLY dig this album. Dunno if anyone listens to Sonic Youth, but if you do it's worth checking this out.
  22. Good album, I enjoy all the songs, go dl it now!
  23. What's the most memorable theme for everyone? Movies, TV shows, video games, even albums from back when albums had unity. For me it'd have to be Metal Gear Solid.
  24. All you Weird Al, have you gotten his new album yet? Straight Outta Lynwood
  25. Floor tickets to see Tool = me more excited than I have been in some time.
