  1. Out of my 2 threads in here, i know there were a few people who really enjoyed my megaman mixes, and i wanted to let you guys know that i just finished up a brand new one.. I've spent like 2 months on it - so theres some heavy work involved here, and if any of you all wanna check it out.. feel encouraged to do so This is probably one of my best remixes i've ever done. ----------------------------------- http://kwix.shackspace.com/http://kwix.sha...oticDescent.mp3 <-- the link to the song http://www.vgmix.com/song_view.php?song_id=5537 <-- vgmix mirror
  2. Has anyone went to kwix's oober1337 music page yet? I did and its awsome, listening to some of his remixes especially the mega man 2 one sure did bring back memories of my youth. Not that i'm that old, but I am old enough to wish I was young again. Anyways, if ur into old video game music, its worth a visit =) <3 the double dragon one too, jeeez were those much better times!! Thanks kwix for bringin back the good ol dayz!!!
  3. That's right, folks. Those of us in the Western world will be pleased to know that Mr. David Gilmour will be crossing the ocean to visit once more. For we Torontonians, that entails a stop at Massey Hall on April 9th and 10th. Tickets go on sale in three weeks. I am so freaking stoked I could cry... ...not that I worship the man, or anything - I could probably shake his hand and have a lovely civilized conversation. It's just nice to get this good news this morning, when I thought that hopping on the plane to England for the G8 may have been my last chance to see him live. Don't get your hopes up too high, though - Massey's floor seats are entirely reserved for $400 premium travellers. The first balcony is the closest unreserved seating, and it won't last long.
  4. Ive had my Sony Disc man for going on 7-8 years. And its with held a lot of abuse. It still sounds great but I want to move on. Im going back to college soon and I cant be away to long from my music. And I dont want to carry with me a cd bundle. So.... I want to spend between $130 - $225. And I know that a lot of players of that cost have at least a gig on board. For capacity Iam looking for at least a gig. Ive been looking at a Philips HDD082 with a 2 gig at $130ish. And then I saw the Philips GoGear 6gb at $200ish. That last one caught my eye coz it looks sweet. Apart from the cost and capacity. Im looking for a player that can fit in my pocket easy. I like the shape and design of the ones above. Also I want one that organizes your playlist into albums, artist and genre etc. Ive seen some without that. Im just thinking that those over a gig would have something like that. Ive heard nothing about the Philips players apart from poor navigation. Ive heard good things about the iRiver. And some bad stuff over ipod's batteries. Creative 'I would like to know more'. Just one more thing Ive noticed about mp3 players. Some people Ive talked to think there is a difference between the ipod and others. That an ipod is an ipod and an mp3 player is an mp3 player. And you tell them its just a brand thing. But the only player ive ever seen advertised is the ipod. Their marketing of the ipod has branded it so good. I dont know why we dont see more of the others. at_thedrivethru out!!!
  5. If you're sleeping...then wake up and check out Damian Marley's new album Welcome to Jamrock...it's fantastic! There are a bunch of unreleased Bob songs on there too, keeping in mind that Damian reworked them for his album, they are still amazing! And if you're really adventurous and really like reggae Sinead O'Connor's new album is all classic reggae...and really well done I must say.
  6. so I just found this group through a friend of mine. I can't even find if they actually have a cd and I can't get their 2 songs on myspace to download they are still VERY worth checking out http://www.myspace.com/girlsindiners the best way I could describe them is a emo-rock-electronica group.

    BLAST!

Tonight I'm going to see Blast. I can't wait!
  8. Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Queen and Nirvana. Yep. A friend of mine was listening to a classic radio station and heard Nirvana. I guess it was going to happen one of those days. But if your like me and grew up with 90s music. Something like that is bound to make you aware of your age. I can see myself years from now embarressing my kids with RATM and the Smashing Pumpkins. Getting my groove on with my hip replacement to Boyz II Men lol
  9. Aight, who would be my bestest and fastest MP3 finder around here?
  10. Going to see them Nov 18th at the House of Blues in Cleveland, should be awesome. I saw them once before and they sound just as good live as they do recorded.
  11. Saw them live for the first time tonite.. They roxxor in a big (colorful metaphor) way. It was my first big show to attend in 4 years, the last one was Janes Addiction in the cities (MSP).... Back in the day (college era) I have seen the chili peppers, pearl jam, NIN, blind melon, rollins band, ministry, sound garden, tool, u2, pink floyd, beasty boys, smashing pumpkins, I could go on and on. Plus all of the bands at woodstock 94 (which includes a few of the above that I've seen muliple times i.e. ministry NIN rollins ect..) System was hands down one of the best concerts I've ever seen.. Trust me I'm not a big fan, but I do like there style.
  12. Do we have any "Mozart makes you smarter" fans? I have to say in all honesty...I listen to classical music. Yes it's true... ...When I listen to classical music my mood changes, I feel relaxed, and rejuvenated. One of my favorite composers is Giovanni Palestrina. He mainly wrote music for the Roman Catholic Church around 1560. I started to take interest in his work after playing some of his shorter compositions in band.

    Prodigy

I've been a fan of these guys since mid 90s, looked them up couple days ago.....they released a new album last year. It's called 'Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned' which is a nice theme for these forums I thought. Yeah, so that's what I'm listening to.
  14. I've only ever been to one concert and it wasn't even a popular band. Just a random local band that died out sooner than later. I could've went to Summer Sanitarium a few years back but I had the flu, was still gonna go, but the day of I couldn't even walk. Anyway I was at a live concert for this band who, (I know I use Metallica alot but this really was said), said that they were what "Metallica should have been." It was basically a good drummer, good lead guitarist, crappy bassist and a lead singer that sounded like an emotional Phil Anselmo. Well anyway, this "Huge name band" in the middle of the show were playing their only popular song and they let the fans sing the chorus. Every single person in attendance said a different version of what should've been said. The band immediately stopped playing the song. Like all the music stopped at once. The lead singer took 5 minutes to explain the lyrics and then they messed it up again so they just kept playing anyway. I thought it was funny because it was a band who was self-proclaimed musical gods and their biggest fans didn't even know their lyrics.
  15. After watching MTV (sorry I know it's a sin) I realized all the Rock bands out there are... well... Which do you like better- mainstream or underground? In mainstream you basically play for radio hits, ie, make 2 or 3 singles with a catchy tune and then the rest of your album generate songs to just fill up space so you can call it an album. In underground you try to make the entire CD to be good and get the people who actually listen to you like it. When Metallica went mainstream with the Black Album, it was a good CD itself but it wasn't the same. And now they're up to St Anger which doesn't even have a damn guitar solo in it. So which do you like better and why?
  16. Now I am NOT saying they're bad musicians whatsoever, to make this topic clear. But would you consider them a Punk band anymore? To me calling someone from MTV or mainstream a "Punk" band is a joke. Punk was made to be anti-mainstream and was made against the popularity thing. Once a "punk" band crosses that line it's over. So can anyone tell me why they're still called Punk and not give me a reason like "it's good shut up."

    Tatu

Anyone heard of them? I first listend to one of their songs "Not Gonna Get Us" on the Pubmasters video. Someone told me they we a controversial group?? I can thank Bullet for getting my hooked on their music...he plays that song at least five times a day.
  18. don't do it very often, but if i wanna share a song with someone and i rip it off a cd it presents me with a 31 mb .wma file. kinda large. how to convert to mp3?
  19. Im pumped, im gonna go see them in Youngstown in Sept. www.disturbed1.com to hear the 2 new songs streamed on the net. Sounds like this could be the best one yet.
  20. I just picked up the new Stevie Wonder single "So what the fuss?" and I gotta say he hasn't lost a beat! If you guys like raw funk then check it out! "Kill the anonymo in counter-strike....shaaaame on you!"
  21. What's your current playlist, or a list of songs you most frequently listen to? Here's mine: 1. Ra - Fallen Angels 2. Sevendust - Enemy 3. Day of Fire - Fade Away 4. Papa Roach - Getting Away with Murder 5. Crossfade - Colors 6. Damageplan - Soul Bleed 7. Rammstein - Keine Lust 8. Chevelle - Get Some 9. Chevelle - The Clincher 10.Breaking Point - Show me a Sign 11.Nonpoint - The Truth 12.Canderia - Down 13.A Perfect Circle - Passive Post em' up!
  22. I've been listening to them off and on for a while, but recently I got really interested in one of their songs. Keine Lust is a great song, and the music video is a riot to watch. I don't know the German language, so it's difficult to understand what they are saying. On the other hand, this is hard-core metal so I guess it dosn't matter what they are saying, Rammstein just sounds awsome.
  23. For you techno/europop junkies, I heard there is a new Eiffel 65 album due to release.
  24. here It's acctually only 100, but it's called top 200..
  25. I heard The Used/My Chemical Romance cover of Queen/Bowie's Under Pressure. And I thought not bad but a definte 'downgrade'. I do give more respect to artists that are more creative with classic songs, Good examples are: A Perfect Circle-Imagine, by John Lennon (an awsome cover) Johnny Cash-Hurt, by NIN
