Anyone here wanna point me to a good beginner's guide to the game... there are many, but not sure how many are that great. I made a player and mucked around a bit to get the feel. But now I want to recreate a character and not just guess what to answer for the various questions, and create someone I can use. Any character creation advice would be nice. SS

I've restarted playing Oblivion again and noticed sites like tesnexus has as much traffic lately as it did 3 years ago. Blame it on Fallout. Anywho here's a few grafix mods I'm running to bring the bling up to date while not changing gameplay. First get the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. Fixes a couple thousand bugs. Qarl's Texture Pack 3 1.68gb of high res textures CaptNKILLs NonTiling Texture Mod Fixes the original crappy terrain texture tiling. Koldorns LOD Noise Replacer You may want to try medium. Gonna need Oblivion Mod Manager for these. OMM makes installing mods easier and also lets you deactivate them at will, so if you can find the other mods I listed above in OMOD file, then by all means grab that instead. 4096X4096 Normal Map-2048X2048 Border Regions-LOD_OMOD High res terrain LOD compilation Natural Faces Makes the faces of NPCs not so damn ugly. There's a crazy amount of high quality mods out there, check out the top 100 on Nexux.

I ask if anyone is still playing because I'm not. It's too much! When I get home from work I think about playing for a while, load it up, remember how it's so much like a second job and quit! Seriously, anyone else out there tired of the enormousness of it yet? It's just too daunting to go on! I'm going to wait until I build my new puter and get my 24" WS...that should bring me back...

Fellas, Dont forget to post up any good mods you happen to come across and try. Morrowind was vanilla till the moders came along and really made it a great game!

Hi guys + girls, I'm trying to join the mages guild and have so far obtained about 3 recomendations, but when it come to the Leyawiin recomendation I believe I've ran into a bug. I've found the old ladies amulet after doing the quest, and have returned to the guild hall to try and give it to her, but the stupid cow won't allow me to give it to her. Everytime I talk to her she just has he same chat options as she did before I started the quest. I know I have the correct amulet because a few other people in the hall congratulate me for finding this amulet and tel me to give it to dagil (if thats her name) but its not working :'( I've even reduced myself to stripping infront of her and only wear the amulet but she still doesnt seem to notice it... I mean, talk about a loss of dignity! So what shall I do? Are there any cheats that I can use that will automatically allow me to enter the mages guild or something along them lines? I dont really want to miss out the whole mages guild experience because being an imperial warrior i dont havent really picked up many spells, so the mages guild would help

I dont have the manual for Oblivion, is there an in game map?? If so what button brings it up??? Nevermind, Jackie answered it for me..

http://csusap.csu.edu.au/~mloxto01/ An Alpha version is already released. I haven't tried it yet, but it only supports 2 players for Oblivion at the moment. Quest sync is one of the things NOT working. So basically, only two people can run around and do whatever at the moment. Still, a big improvement to the mod.

So to get farther in the game, I have to persuade this NPC at the Shrine of Azura to tell me something. I know I click on the little face icon in the bottom left, but obviously I am no good at picking the order in which to say things, i.e. joke, amuse, etc. I can tell their different facial expressions but still I can't get anywhere. How do I do this? In other news, I just found out it's possible to kill a horse. Destroyed my pretty chestnut with the long mane.

do you think they'll come out with quest update packets? That would be SO COOL! Not like I'd ever finish all of the quests. O_o

Spoiler********** The game was almost too easy at the default difficulty level right up until I got to the battle with Cammaron. Now I'm trying to lead the emperor through the city to the temple and I'm getting roally flattened. gggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I got the call tonight from my local EBgames where I preordered it...I was so happy...I ran over there and have been playing it for the last 2 1/2 hours...it's soooooo good...oh man...if you liked Morrowind then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?!?! (oh, maybe for it to get an official release? tomorrow is your day!)

I'm sure you all know by now gates to scarey land pops up everywhere... I've been avoiding them but I decided to the try to close them all before completing the main quest. lol! Yeah I haven't finished the main quest yet... too busy with all these side quests! At least I want to close 2 gates. My person is thief so I'm like a drive by killer or wut not... hit and run away and repeat. Kinda easy when I'm so fast... I can catch up to a deer easily.

Ok so I read about this item dublication exploit and figured I could have some fun with it cause Oblivion has some nice physics and such...here's how it's done in case you guys want to try it out So I went into my manor in Anvil and tried this with a single Pearl and 100 arrows...yes...it spawned 100 pearls...I'm surprised I haven't slipped on any yet! lol

Ok, probably a silly question, but: I'm about 26 hours in, I've completed a bundle of side quests and I think I have 2 parts remaining in the main quest. Now, I don't think that at any point I've had more than 3,000 gold (I'm around that figure at the moment), is there something I'm doing wrong on the gold front or is that a realistic level for how far in I am (I've paid to have my enchanted weapons filled back up again once or twice which isn't cheap). I've not joined a guild yet (although I am an honorary knight of the thorn), is this the reason I don't seem to be bringing in the green like some people seem to? Should I focus on joining a guild now and will that help, it's just getting frustrating being offered houses, horses etc. that I can't afford. I dont' want to use any exploits to get money, and I'm playing on the 360 so I definitely couldn't enter consol commands anyway. Any advice would be much appreciated. Oh, and I need some lockpicks if anyone's got some going spare

Post up what kind of character you are...ie mage/warrior/theif/marksman etc...your race and whatnot... I'm a Redguard warrior with some ability with locks, restoration, heavy armour and biiiiiig feet!
