There was a thread about buying a new PSU in one of the other forums that I read. I'm just curious what you guys use and what they are all powering.

I have a Thermaltake 420W

It runs AMD 2200+, 4hds, 2roms, 1 floppy, 3 cathodes,6 fans and a 5600 Ultra.

lol birdman, you live in the dorms also right?

i got to ask you

First off, how did u get that many machines in the dorm? and next why do you need all of those?

:D

True, I live in the dorms and I just carried the sucka's to my room.

Only the first 4 are in my room though.

I couldnt run all the computers back home cause the power bill would be too high; so I brought them to school and use their power.

One box is my main box, the first one, the rest runF@H and one sometimes runs a dedicated LAN UT2k4 Server.

The other two puters are back home.

Question - Does it matter?

I have a 300W running:

- AMD 2500+ OC'd to 3200

- 512MB PC2700

- Nvidia 5600 Ultra 256MB

- SB Live Sound Card

- 2 Hard Drives

- CDRW Drive

- DVD Drive

- TV Tuner Card

- 1 CPU Cooler Fan

- 1 PSU Fan

I am planning on getting a new case, should I get a higher PSU, will it make a difference?

I'd say it's a keeper.

Dont think itll hurt anything, so I would save some money.

If you ever get a video card that sucks more power and add some fans though I would consider a good 50 dollar powersupply.
