[Mmmm]Homer May 10, 2004 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member May 10, 2004 Jane, as I recall you had an nForce2 system. Are you getting 2 of these to take advantage of the Dual-DDR capability?

jane May 10, 2004 Author Share jane Member May 10, 2004 well for now(money) i only got one. but the best thing is the price on newegg(185~). I got this at Bestbuy for 125, with a 25 mail-in-rebate! woot! i feel special! although i havent gotten the new gfx card i wanted, im getting that next. I had been playin BF1942 for the longest time and thinking that my "lag" was internet based...but when i shuved in this new ram, come to find out that it was my internal lag, not my cable. Wow am I pleased. Also, I just got Raven shield so if you guys play it, let me know, I'll be trollin the pubs trying to learn this game. IMO too many guns, but that makes it rather realistic at the same time. Anywho, just thought I'd let you guys know that i'm pleased with the RAM and only bought it cuz of what I learned on these forums, so thank you very much. btw, i took out the old memory (128*2, PC2700) because I didnt wanna run 600+ at 2700. Though was this a mistake? Ill put the another stick in if itll help out cuz of the DDR stuff....
All Kill3r May 10, 2004 Share All Kill3r Member May 10, 2004 put um all back in. i hope you dont think your system is running pc4000 speeds now...
[Mmmm]Homer May 10, 2004 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member May 10, 2004 Yeah, the RAM is capable of PC4000 speed, but the rest of your system - CPU and motherboard are not. But the RAM was still a steal at that price.

All Kill3r May 11, 2004 Share All Kill3r Member May 11, 2004 more ram the better, fill all the dimms up. FX you mean dual channel instead of DDR ? i wouldnt sweat loosing dual channel on a AMD platform right now for having more total ram.
jane May 12, 2004 Author Share jane Member May 12, 2004 thought DDR stood for dual data rate...whats the diff from dual channel?
[Mmmm]Homer May 12, 2004 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member May 12, 2004 DDR is SDRAM DDR is Double Data Rate SDRAM Dual Channel DDR [sDRAM] uses at least two DIMMs for better performance.
