Shropshire Slasher March 14, 2005 Share Shropshire Slasher Member March 14, 2005 Just wanted to apologize for the offending phrase. Server: Mayhem When: Sunday, March 13. SteamID: 0:0:6172846 FWIW: When I was admonished to follow the rules, I replied with "k". to indicate complicity. I didn't want to sound contradictory with a longer response... perhaps this led to some confusion and ultimately the ban? If it is a temp ban, i'm perfectly willing to serve out the term, but if it is longer, I would like to request reinstatement. Thank you, Shropshire Slasher aka Sauce Will Thicken Upon Standing aka Heywood J'Blome
Acid-Flux March 14, 2005 Share Acid-Flux Member March 14, 2005 You should probably note who the phrase was said to and apx time of the incident. Someone will be looking into this matter and it would make their life alot easier if you provided that info.

Therefore I won't repeat it here, as i don't feel there should be lower standards in the forum than during gameplay. It was late evening, perhaps between 9 and 10 pm. I moved over to Temrarious and briefly discussed it with Oober, perhaps he recalls the time. ich bin ein berliner March 14, 2005 Share ich bin ein berliner Member March 14, 2005 anyone with the topic 'plea for clemency' should get thier ban lifted. if you use 'clemency' to request a ban lifted from cs:s, hes sorry, seriously, everyone says 'im sorry' instead of 'please grant me clemency' it sounds like hes appealing to the federal court or something... which indicates he respects the server... he said hes sorry. but i do agree with acid, i mean if you just give a recap of what happened, u can say 'i used vulgar language' or 'i tked' or 'made in inappropriate comment' and this is what the admin said. i replied and he took it the wrong way. I was expressing amazement at 2 hits doing in excess of 180 damage, with no headshot. BTW, it was an acronym, not the profanity itself. By the server rules this is immaterial, however. Shropshire Slasher March 14, 2005 Author Share Shropshire Slasher Member March 14, 2005 why what's it mean? real person or something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1. It's best left unexplained. 2. I changed it, and don't play under that name anymore. I changed it without prompting. Actually, there is a funny irony in that I self edited that name. However, the name that shows up under the stats page is the first name you play under. If an admin wants, I would be happy to have the name associated with my steam ID to be the one that I currently play under. CEM

I was asking about the SHropshire...does that have a hidden meaning too? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah, Shropshire Slasher... One of my crowning achievments of arcane cartoon knowledge... Only one other in my hours and hours of CS:S has acknowledged that gem of trivia. No, it is isn't dirty. At least, unless the great, late Chuck Jones intended it to be, but i doubt it. The Shropshire Slasher is the name of the villian in an old (1956) Looney Tunes movie, "Deduce, You Say". It starred Daffy Duck and Porky Pig as Holmes and Watson, or characatures thereof. An interesting bit of additional trivia... the voice of the Shropshire Slashers's mother was played by June Foray, better known as the voice of Rocket J. Squirrel on the Bullwinkle Show. And now we can all share a laugh about "Shropshire Slasher". On another note: I haven't decided if "Sauce Will Thicken Upon Standing" is dirty or not... :/ (JK) Edited March 15, 2005 by Shropshire Slasher
