stutters November 30, 2005 Share stutters GC Alumni November 30, 2005 (edited) 16 days left tuesday 11/29 breakfast: cereal + soy milk school snack: cliff bar lunch: pasta with red sauce pre gym snack: jerky and wheat thins dinner: burrito (chicken + veggies, low fat cheese) evening snack: peanut butter and graham crackers gym: redeemed my free trainer session to get some ideas to help lower body and cardio. he told me fat burning cardio is done at a lot lower heart rate, which is news to me. my heartrate was around 165bpm, and should be between 125-142 for my age/weight. he also gave me some new excercises, which killed me. i did some upper body weights, stretched, and called it a good day. i'm taking wednesday off to recover. *edit* yeah, trainer also confessed the scale in the locker room is pretty inaccurate. everytime i use it, its never at zero, and when i try to fix it with my hand, well, it can't be on. i'll use the scale at the pool instead, but photos might be the ultimate verdict. Friday Dec 2 Breakfast: 3 oatmeal chocolate chip cookies Lunch: apple Dinner: panerotti 5 sets of 8 laps in pool I did not reach my goal for Nov 30. My official weigh in is 203 Lbs. Although I am happy I am heading in the right direction, my battle is far from over. I had a very dissapointing end to this week. Not only did I veer off from my diet, (oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for breakfast!), but I also broke down and bought a pack of ciggarettes. Smoking & swimming do not mix well, and the pace of my swimming can not last long if I am smoking. I have suffered my first major setback. With all the obstacles in my way I am happy with 203 Lbs (for this week!) but I must deal with the smoking ASAP. "There are no secrets to success. stutters December 3, 2005 Share stutters GC Alumni December 3, 2005 before you started this, would you have thought twice (or felt guilty) about eating cookies for breakfast? changing your state of mind is harder than shedding a few pounds. so far you've done BOTH! keep charging man. CowboyFromHell`X December 5, 2005 Share CowboyFromHell`X Member December 5, 2005 (edited) Way I know how hard it is to quit smoking. Try this though it may actually work for ya. Take your pack of cigarettes and wrap them tightly in something like aluminum foil (careful not to crush if you don't want them ruined). After they're in the foil place them somewhere REALLY hard to get like you'd have to use a ladder to get to them. By the time you haul out a ladder, climb it and grab the pack then get the foil open you might ask yourself "Is it worth all this trouble?" Also if you REALLY need a cigarette and it's one of those days, limit yourself like maybe one every 2 hours or so. And if you're gonna be doing something that could be one of those "smoke 5 cigarettes without thinking things", like watching TV or such, wait till whatever you're doing is over. Also don't feel bad about cracking down and buying a pack, the fact that you admitted that the cigarettes = bad and you felt guilty is much better than just buying a pack and saying "Who cares it's just one pack."
