these are the current (and default) weapon modifiers.

A new player has 1000 points. Every time you make a kill, you gain a certain amount of points depending on a) the victim's points rating, and B) the weapon you used. If you kill someone with a higher points rating than you, then you gain more points than if you kill someone with a lower points rating than you. Therefore, killing newbies will not get you as far as killing the #1 player. And if you kill someone with your knife, you gain more points than if you kill them with a rifle, for example.

 

When you are killed, you lose a certain amount of points, which again depends on the points rating of your killer and the weapon they used (you don't lose as many points for being killed by the #1 player with a rifle than you do for being killed by a low ranked player with a knife). This makes moving up the rankings easier, but makes staying in the top spots harder.

 

Specifically, the equations are:

 

Killer Points = Killer Points + (Victim Points / Killer Points) × Weapon Modifier × 5

 

Victim Points = Victim Points - (Victim Points / Killer Points) × Weapon Modifier × 5

Unless the Ts have a way to defuse the bomb, I think that actually means 30 team points for defusing the bomb right?

typo, double entry. should be (and is):

so the defuser gets a total of 35 (begin, defused, & team points), his teammates get 20 for providing cover.

 

roughly, i went 2x the default hlstatsx values for team objectives, knocked down camping (i.e. ct's killed all t's) to no bonus, and am awaiting flaming :)

5 points modifer for flashbang and smoke. Im not sure how that works.

Do i get 5 points for using em, or 5 points for each person I blind, or 5 points for each person i kill while they are blind. And i dont even want to figure out how the smoke thing works.

I think flashbangs are already a bit overpowered in this game, plus the P90...but maybe thats cuz I use em so often lol. But yea If Im getting a 1.2 for the p90 kills plus and extra 5 point modifier for the blinding, no wonder im so high on the stats (not worthy).

Overall though this really makes me wanna flank those AWPers even more...mmm I can taste it now!

you also get higher points for killing a top ranking player. in other words, it's open season on tWc.

 

 

Question regarding this, forgive me if i missed it in an earlier post...

 

Do the top ranking players then get negative points for getting killed by a lower ranking player as well. I just wonder because i've i've noticed in the last couple of days my score dropping and not understanding why. Ex. today i maintained a kd ratio at or above my current out of 2-3 hours of play, planted the bomb twice, rescued 4-6 hostages, and my score dropped a few hundred points.

 

I understand the concept of getting more points for killing a top ranking player, but hopefully it's not negatively affecting the top-ranking player for getting killed by a lower-ranking player...? Dunno, very confused as to why my points have been dropping while maintaining what i feel is the same level of play as always, plus or minus a miniscule percentage.

 

btw, im not a big stats guy, if my stats drop off the charts i'll be playing here :spin2: , but i am just enough a stats guy to wonder whats going on :unsure:
