Also look at the mobo itself and it should tell you. You are lucky in the fact that there are a LOT of experienced people here at GC in computer hardware. Give us exact make and model of your comp and we can see what we can advise you on.

TheReverend(c) January 23, 2006 Share TheReverend(c) Member January 23, 2006 Well this link pretty much shows what you can do with your mobo. You could buy some decent ram from corsair or kingston and max it out. You can get a decent Radeon 9800xt for you agp slot for $180. Your lucky, some emachines dont have agp slots What is your current cpu? what is the video card if it isnt integrated? Faster harddrives help. Ill give you a list that might help. Your Mobo: http://www.emachineupgraders.info/dir1/mot.../k7mnf-64.shtml What you could try: Video card: http://www.pwv2.magicmicro.com/pmoreinfo.asp?iid=945 $165.00 Sound card: http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/productdetai...T=Sound%20Cards $45.99 CPU: http://www.pcprogress.com/product.asp?m1=p...AMDXP3000400OEM $182.00 RAM: http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/productdetai...System%20Memory $42.99 Harddrive: (not sure what yours is) http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/productdetai...20Disk%20Drives $55.00 Total: $491.00 This is a bit more than the original cost of your machine. You may want to get a new machine entirely if this is too much. But this setup will play CSS and many other games quite well. When you put in these faster cpu and ram you may have to change jumper settings on the mobo, but fortunately yours looks jumperless. If you decide to buy a new machine or mobo for youe current one, you cant go wrong with any Nforce 3 or 4 based mobo. But usually emachines have mobos that are only designed to fit their cases. But yours appears to be a standard microatx that may be hard to replace with newer boards. You can always purchase another case and mobo, but thats going to be a bit more. If you need help building a comp check out Homers post here: http://www.gamrs.co/forums/in...=0entry273818 Tell us exactly what HDD capacity/spee and CPU make model/speed you have. Preacher January 25, 2006 Share Preacher Member January 25, 2006 If you plan to spend $500 get a new PC Mobo and case : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16856101238 CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...82E16819104245R Video: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...82E16814102608R RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820220037 Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...82E16822148067R A few of those are refurbs but Newegg is good to deal with and guarantees the product for 30 days and it also comes with the full manufacturers warranty still. You get with that a 64 bit system for $563.90 including shipping. All you will need to do is swap your cd drives mouse keyboard and monitor and you're ready to start installing software
