mookie January 23, 2006 Share mookie GC Alumni January 23, 2006 You can't take it apart? You've got nothing to lose at this point, grab a screwdriver and unscrew everything you can find.
TheGeek January 23, 2006 Author Share TheGeek Member January 23, 2006 (edited) There is no screws, and thats what i thought. but there is all permanant fasiners. Goofus Maximus January 23, 2006 Share Goofus Maximus Member January 23, 2006 I'd say just wash it, let it dry for a week or so, and see if it works. If not, buy a Logitech (they have screws to take apart) mouse in it's place. I've had mine apart a couple of times, the last being to get the cat-hair out of the mousewheel mechanism, and epoxy a loose left-click switch. TheGeek January 23, 2006 Author Share TheGeek Member January 23, 2006 Ok lets take a poll, who thinks i should follow goofus maximus's advice? Im not sure if washing an electronic would make it better but i could be wrong.
Chamberlain January 23, 2006 Share Chamberlain Member January 23, 2006 It doesn't matter either way. Mouses are like 10 bucks. 14.99 at my nearest comp shop. Opening it up and cleaning shouldn't be a problem unless you have a problem putting things back together.

Washing keyboards works, so I don't think washing the mouse could be much worse. As long as you don't try to use them while they're still wet, it's perfectly okay. discom January 23, 2006 Share discom Member January 23, 2006 Washing keyboards works lol, i spilled some food on my keyboard so i took it apart and washed it. Then I let it dry in front of a fan for like a week. It still does not work... when i push a key, like 15 letters and numbers appear on the screen So i bought a new $12 cheapo keyboard where the left ctrl is really hard no press. Its really frustrating in CS when i am trying to crouch
