ZeroDamage April 30, 2007 Share ZeroDamage Member April 30, 2007 (edited) The most interesting one to me is the second one under the "FLOPS Comparison" section. Compare what a video card can do in comparison to a high end dual-core CPU. (Please keep in mind they do different things). http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/sh...565#post5449565 Edited May 1, 2007 by stuttering.john

anonymo May 1, 2007 Share anonymo Member May 1, 2007 AMD said last week that by 2012 there will no longer be GPUs, that multicore processors will be handling everything...I'm wondering if I should wait...
shep48 May 1, 2007 Share shep48 Member May 1, 2007 they do different things for now.. they already said they are looking towards the gpu sharing the calculations. Imagine quad cpus with dual gpus, all working together some day the game will look like the intro while your playing
Allanon May 1, 2007 Share Allanon Member May 1, 2007 Wait... didn't CPU's used to handle graphics... until GPU's became popular... and if they did, which switch back to having the CPU handle everything?
