Tek-Almighty June 11, 2007 Share Tek-Almighty Member June 11, 2007 I got a tiger muskie fingerling when I was netting in the wetlands at the confluence of the rock and mississippi rivers a couple weeks ago. My environmental science students are doing water sampling and biodiversity assays on different bodies of water in our area. Sure was cool to see your fish, but within the first 2 months of life. I put in back and said a quick prayer that it would be one of the rare survivors. Good for you letting it go. Tigers are threatened in Illinois (in waters that are not stocked of course). Happy fishing.
Magruter June 11, 2007 Author Share Magruter Member June 11, 2007 Plus tigers can't reproduce... So either they are stocked or a natural cross a northern and muskie. What's nice is this one is natural They stocked this lake twice with muskies in the early 70's and it's been doing well since...
