Phat_Splizzle March 19, 2003 Share Phat_Splizzle Member March 19, 2003 I love musicals. Anyone else like em? If so, what are you favorites? My favorites right now are Aida, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Beauty and the Beast.

Chief March 20, 2003 Share Chief Member March 20, 2003 Mary Poppins is as good as it gets. But I also like The Music Man Hello Dolly! The Sound of Music Les Miserables (great book) My life is a musical. I can't sing but I do it alot. And I always ask Katie to sing to me before I go to bed. My favorite is Madonna Like a Prayer...I cuddle up under the blankets with my cell phone ear piece in my right ear and listen to her sing. What's wrong with musicals? Phat_Splizzle March 20, 2003 Author Share Phat_Splizzle Member March 20, 2003 Yeah, whats wrong with musicals? Anyways, speaking of Mary Poppins, our fraternity is performing a 10 minute sing and dance show from Mary Poppins. We get to dance with chimney sweeps! w00t! Playaa March 20, 2003 Share Playaa Member March 20, 2003 I don't enjoy musicals as much as I enjoy opera. I love americanized opera (i.e. Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis...etc.)
Chief March 20, 2003 Share Chief Member March 20, 2003 I don't enjoy musicals as much as I enjoy opera.I love americanized opera (i.e. Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis...etc.) DOH! I was thinking that those were musicals. So I guess Mary Poppins is a musical I like...but since there are movie versions of the others I'll leave them on the list. But they are called Broadway musicals. Okay, wait now I'm confusing myself. Musicals--movies Musicals--live performances (Americanized opera a la Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber the British mega master of musicals...in America!) Opera--orchestra, Fat lady, foreign laguages But I like traditional opera too. I prolly like Verdi the best. I still think that it is kind of wierd to have the Met displaying translations up on the side of the stage. I like both types of musicals and opera. I can't believe I forgot An American in Paris in my first post. Chief

Dirk_Nowitzki March 20, 2003 Share Dirk_Nowitzki Member March 20, 2003 Les Mis is actually very good. Everything else sucks. (Except Mary Poppins, The Muppet Movie, and the great Pete's Dragon.)
