Cujo February 27, 2008 Share Cujo Member February 27, 2008 i don't believe the 2wire does though it is a great modem. best to just use it as a modem and start with a good gigabit router with qos. also, why not go draft n?
boiler February 27, 2008 Share boiler Member February 27, 2008 I set up a couple of wireless repeaters from Netgear in my parent's house a little over a year ago. I think these are what I used. I know some people aren't fans of Netgear, but they have worked great for their house, and setup was pretty easy. Keep in mind with this setup that these are only access points/repeaters and not routers. At least with the Netgears, you cannot use a repeater with a wireless router, only with another repeater. Since they needed a couple of wired connections, I used a regular four port router to which I connected the first wireless repeater. I'm not sure if this is the case with all manufacturers, but it's something to keep an eye out for.
anonymo March 4, 2008 Share anonymo Member March 4, 2008 Have you considered powerline networking? Or does it have to be wireless and/or 54mbs? Also I'm not sure of the distance powerline networking can handle, but still something to consider. oh yeah linky
