Dingy June 29, 2008 Share Dingy Member June 29, 2008 It has been quite a while since I have reinstalled my system, and is is starting acting strangely. So, I think it mightbe time to reinstall.... Anyway - what steps must I do to reinstall all of the Steam-powered games that I have installed (and other that I bought through Steam)? Could I just copy those over from my original hard drive? Thanks....
Preacher June 30, 2008 Share Preacher Member June 30, 2008 Takes forever but if you are having issues your best bet is to uninstall everything STEAM related and then go to www.steampowered.com and install steam fresh. Then after logging in install all of your steam games one by one through download. You can use back-ups but like I said if you're having issues then maybe fresh is better. anonymo June 30, 2008 Share anonymo Member June 30, 2008 I can't see (unless you're having some pretty invasive virus issues, which I don't think even exist) why you wouldn't back up all your installed games to DVD first. You can even just copy your whole steamapps folder if you prefer. I would never recommend re downloading everything, especially if your system is only having performance issues. dwEEziL June 30, 2008 Share dwEEziL Member June 30, 2008 I just run steam and re-download them. I'm not too concerned about the bandwidth or time.
