such fun...no matter the hour. i just get to the counterstrike screen (the picture, no options). when i go to connect to server w/o entering the game....just a constant waiting to connect...no progress.

 

 

clues? ive resintalled multiple times and can log into steam w/o issue, just starting the game is the hosed part.

I had that same problem. To fix it I had to use the Steaminstall_CS instead of Steaminstall If you used the CS version then I dont have a clue

i wish it were that easy.

 

im past that already and actually played on saturday.

 

where it hard hangs now is on the pretty new CS opening screen with the 2 dudes (the 2 dudes) splash screen (the one where it has options servers quit etc)...that stuff never comes up...its permo bitmap...and hung.

 

 

ive also reinstalled 3 or 4 x letting it go for hours before reboot/kill process etc.

Yes that is where it hung up for me too. So Im out of ideas now :prop:

i have unintstalled and reinstalled multiple times...steam hates me...it will not connect it keeps saying i have no internet

I kept getting stuck on validating game resources

 

It took about 1 hr to get into a game

 

and each time I re-entered

i have to bump this cause im having the same problem and have NO IDEA how to fix it.

 

ive done everything that yermother did, mulitple uninstall/re-installs of half-life, cs, steam, vid-card drivers. nothing seems to work.

 

im hopelessly lost, it all started cause im puttin together a new computer

and this is my last hurdle b4 im totally thru installing everything.

 

so any help that gets cs set up, ill buy em some dinner at fragfest.

(slappy i helping right now, so if he beats yall to the punch ill still buy someone dinner)

okay...this is how far ive gotten.....

 

i can get in game by:

starting cs

i get to the screen with the two cs guys (no box with loading info)

crt-alt-del

restore cs window (but "loading box" is now BRIGHT neon green)

i can get in a lan game ive started

but the screen to view all the players and kills and death

is also BRIGHT GREEN

 

so what do yall think

ever even heard of this problem?

yeah flux, i tried that. i got the file from fileshack...had to wait 40 minutes for it.

 

ive uninstalled/reinstalled half-life, uninstalled/reinstalled steam, uninstalled/reinstalled video drivers.

 

and i CANNOT get this stupid thing to work right.

this makes me wanna quit cs

 

i have to alt-tab outta the "two cs guys screen"

go back to that window

cancel the load to the game

then i get the right screen where i have the menu for servers, quit, etc.

 

i have no idea whats wrong, im about to take a sledge hammer to it
