MW2, Bioshock2, STALKER Call of Pripyat, I got totally bored with Mass Effect 2 in about 4 hours. Bleh. It plays horrible and the scenery looks 10 years old...

Ive never run into anything even close to that. Once in a while (1 out of 10 or so) I wont find a good match before hitting high pings of 70+, so I just leave lobby and hit it again. I think the worst I ever had was maybe a full minute. And yeah, I imagine toobs would really suck in a hardcore game, thats true.

Finally broke down and bought Vantage. I ran it 3 different ways: 1 - No PhysX enabled. 2- PhysX enabled on the 8800gt 3- PhysX enabled on the 275GTX. Everything completely 100% stock (CPU and GPUs). Im excited to run it later with some CPU/GPU OCs. It made a huge difference in '06, so we'll see about Vantage. Scores follow the order above reversed ( The 275 PhysX is fastest): EDIT: What the!? Its been fun this weekend. Noobs everywhere though! But thats ok, lots of new blood (Literally) I really don't have any complaints about this game. I guess my biggest would be the inability to ban a jerk or a hacker... but even not having a server is easy enough to get around...just party-up. Gameplay and balance is good. Occasionally tubes can get annoying etc, but thats like complaining about AWPS in CSS...theres always something, and tubes aren't really that big of a deal.

upgrade = a new PC in MS eyes. This includes CPUs or HDD changes....no really google it or something but really this sounds like a typical "Ignore till it goes away" windows thing. Or burn it in a cool fire.... with hotdogs marshmallows and beer. No really... they get blue at the right toss time .... BTW Abby had it right... Pistachios really are addicting.

I was with a friend and we decided to run to town for a pop. Then we decided to go to Detroit for a week instead. (shrug ) So ..... I raced this corvette down I94 on the way to Ann Arbor.... I was driving my 68 Firebird convertable (settle down now....) with the bigblock and 2-speed powerglide. It had a little on me at the 45 MPH drop on the highway, but when you hold first gear until 80 MPH there really isnt many streetables that can touch you on the shift. So....the Corvette drops at approx. 135 MPH down I 94...Im thinking...what a girl...he can take me on the top end.....then the lights flash wayyyyyy behind us. So my buddy yells "Hit this exit dont slow yet!"....and I do Then comes the "Brake and turn right here!"...Forgot to mention this is like 3 am and we shut the lights off when the blue and reds came on. So we hit residential at 100 then brake at a cul-de-sac as He hits the exit.... And we are soon parked in a driveway behind a garage with some poor schmuck trying to back out while the 5-0 blow by on a res street at like 100..... I work in retail. There have been MANY times that I have felt physically ill at watching what some people buy to feed their kids. any other details about the time it happens? Map change? You said after 10-15 minutes after steam. Is that time spent gaming hard? Or with steam sitting idle? Chat? Does your steam setting change as well? (meaning - the internet setting, does it seem to change from lan/T1 to dial up or something crazy?). More details = better responses.

No, Im not SLI-ing. I just have this extra 8800gt sitting here, so Im using it for all the PhysX work. Now I have one GPU with 512MB doing all the calculations for PhysX, and all the 275 has to do now is draw pictures ... well you get the idea. As for the 275..I have NO complaints on this card. Absolutely amazes me. Chews up Crysis warhead, MW2, etc. All at 1920x1080. This should probably just level out the highs/lows when there is a lot of PhysX going on. I would never spend money on it, but if its sitting here... Evga was offering a similar combo a while ago, a 275gtx and a 9400 or something for the PhysX. They even offer something similar combined into a single co-op card now. http://www.evga.com/articles/00503/

Still using x4 slot for the 8800gt and the top x16 for the 275. No sli. This is just a PhysX combo. Im using the gpu/ram of the 8800 to run PhysX freeing up the 275 to just draw pictures. The reason some P55 guys are using the x4 slot for Physx gpu is that it doesnt cut the x16 into x8/x8 as this chipset/board comco will do. It leaves the 275gtx at 16 lanes. I think I mightve found the issue. I read in the evga forums somewhere that Evga Precision doesnt monitor the GPU usage onthe 8xxx series cards. So instead I enabled the graph for GPU-2 memory usage. Yup, its using the ram! So, I think it is working.

Something isnt right. So far, in call of Pripyat and MW2, GPU2 is showing 0% usage in evga precision. Even tried enabling on both cards, always stays at 0

Partially resolved. The end of the PCI cord connecting to the PSU wasnt tight. (slaps forehead). I forgot how stiff it was for first-time plug ins. However, for my PhysX configuration, I am not seeing the option for multiple GPUs as is suggested in other threads. On clicking it in Nvidia CP, I can disable it across both GPUs, or select "enable" then a toggle for the gpus. I disabled it, applied, then enabled on the 8800gt, applied. I appears however to enable it on the 275 as well, but no way to check to be sure. Any ideas? According to some other threads, I should actully be seeing "Multiple GPU PhysX setup" or something like that. (Currently in 4x. Others are saying that this is working for them on same mobo)

just double checked...no issues with the card in the old rig.

Power is connected on the card. I checked Bios first off, but not sure what to look for. Didnt find anything that stood out.

My HW is in my sig. Im trying to run my xtra 8800gt dual-slot as a PhysX card. I understand from some EVGA forums that this can be done in either the PCI2x4 or the lower PCI2x8 slot. The lower x8 slot may not work with a full size card like that as it seems it will cover my sound-out from the mobo (case sound and HDMI). I tried installing into the x4 slot, and got a solid high pitch PC-speaker beep. Windows loaded ok, but the card was not recognized in Device panel or Nvidia software. I shut down and yanked it. Someone suggested that I remove all drivers, then try again so it installs both cards simultaneously. But I dont see what that would have to do with the beep. With recognizing it yeah, but not the beep. Page 2 of the visual guide shows the location of the sound ports in relation to the lower x8 slot.
