1. microsoft anti spy beta 1 (find it on the microsoft.com homepage) 2. spybot search and destory (google it, free download.) 3. lavasoft adaware (google it, also free home/personal edition) download and install all of these. restart, boot into safe mode, and run full/deep scans with all three of those tools (in that order) and you should be cruising again. fyi - firefox's glory days of fending of spyware have since ended. always run ms antispy, and do regular scans with the other two. you do have anti virus installed, right? and you do update your definitions daily, right? that's our corporate IT policy and works for us....usually. sweet dreams edit: for your registry woes, try tweak now reg cleaner. the say it's free, but i've never used it.

the hitbox/accuracy plugin was a huge load on the server and caused lag/choke/frustration. it was a fun stat to look at, but it's still more fun (to me) to win as cooperative team than to go blind looking at accuracy stats. which, btw, is the reason i've been laying off the headshots. also, refer to the research and development department on the cs:s west - stock server for an interesting talk about stat calculation

hlsw actually did capture the steam id while i was in game, so bans have been applied to all servers. i'm not sure if vovik saw what i did, or if i jumped the gun and made up what i saw. i spectated this guy as soon as i saw the kills rack up (which was between 5-6hs within 3seconds max), which was near the end of the round. as soon as that round was finished (not map or match--we weren't at timelimit or first to 10), play hung. the map didn't reload, and it was me spectating this guy with only a black screen. lasted for about 15-20 seconds on my end, then i ran changemap to the next on the cycle. the player disconnected at changelevel. do hacks commonly hang a server? the map played was de_dust, so it wasn't a case of bad de_inferno style round lag. granted, i haven't been doing this long, so this may be more common than i'm aware. just wanted to raise the terror alert a notch.
