  1. I sat wondering what Romin was for quite a while I'd be keen to get one done K-Wix will give some thought to what I'd like in there.
  2. Whilst I can partially understand the the issue people are raising here, it's frustrating to be on a side that goes 8-1 down or worse. I can't believe it creates such a debate, short of implementing a police state on the servers, where someone takes responsibility for matching the skills and teamwork of each side before the game starts (and then 5 rounds into the game or more frequently if people leave and join) I don't see how this is meant to be rectified. I don't play as much as some people and probably don't see this "stacking" as often as them, but I can't really see what anyone wants done about it. Whenever I play, both myself and other players have switched teams if scores or skill seem totally one sided and short of banning people for not switching if they're top of the scoreboard and their team is 6-1 up, all we can do is rely on people doing the right thing to keep the game fun. Just looking at a final map score of 10-1 or 9-1 doesn't always reflect how tight a game has been, I've been in a number of games where the scoreline has been like that, but individual scores and the rounds themselves have been really tight. Not ranting too much I hope, but from personal experience, I've seen stacking called in game more than once where it was far from the case, and topics like this more often than not just encourage people to claim it's the reason they're being beaten. In Laz's previous post, does him joining and CTs winning 9 straight rounds suddenly mean teams are stacked? (Nice work by the way)
  3. I'll see if I can dig it out, and get it to work over here, I'm sure that if I hook up my VCR to my PC I can find some way to get it to run normally.

    Pro gamers?

I think the biggest issue, as with many sports and professions is you only hear about the success stories, golf: for every Tiger Woods, there are 100 players who just manage to get from one tournament to the next, and 100,000 amateur players who wish they could do that. For every Sharapova, think how many rounds there are in a major tournament and how many of the players you've never heard of, not counting those who dream about one day getting to that level. I'm not trying to put a dampner on it, but serious pro-gaming is a league apart. I was a member of the most successful amateur Soldier of Fortune II clan in Europe, we were invited to a small professional tournament in London, and the difference was astounding. We were all people with jobs or college who couldn't dedicate 10 hours a day to honing our skills, playing against the likes of 4Kings Intel and SK was in all honesty a joke (although we had beaten 4Kings previously). If you've got the natural flair, time and dedication, you'll be only a 10th of the way there. Also remember that these guys who make the really big bucks are 1 man wrecking crews playing 1 on 1, if you're one of five players, bear in mind any winnings, sponsorship etc. has to be cut five ways and you'll more than likely end up hiring managers, pr people etc. to try and get you better deals if you are that good. My advice is unless you sit down at your pc and are a league apart to begin with, study hard and get a good job, it'll be more profitable in the long run.
  5. I was forced to record/watch this (CPL finals, Fatal1ty and Voo) as a friend of mine from the UK was the main sponsor of one of the teams competing. I didn't really enjoy the program, didn't give much footage, really just a bit a background and a total of maybe 3 minutes game time. I think I must have missed the one with my mates team in it, as I didn't see the T-Shirts he was hoping to get footage of for his website, and only caught the Painkiller final bit. I remember a great 1 hr documentary MTV did probably 2 years ago, which I think was focussed around Fatal1ty and followed him through training to one of the big tournies (including a 16 hour pre match training marathon in a motel with some of his friends), I think I've still got it on video somewhere (not that I can watch UK format video's on my US television so I'll probably never know). That was a big talking point when it came out as it was probably the first decent bit of game coverage ever done by a major network, and I was still playing SOF2 at a reasonably serious level.
  6. Razer Diamondback and Exactmat (on the "precision side" or whatever it's called, not the speed side)- I don't use the Razer drivers though. When I originally got it I'd get a very occasional sticking with it, i.e. I'd move the mouse but with little or no result on screen. Transpired it was because whilst I'd thought I had USB 2.0 ports on my pc, they were actually 1.1 and after adding a PCI USB 2.0 card, the problem disappeared. Love this mouse, took a lot of getting used to after my older Logitech MX500 as it's smaller and lighter, but I much prefer it now and find the Logitech a bit too cumbersome.
  7. I got that deal at Newegg with a large Zalman copper HS + Fan, came out to about 235 all in. Upgraded from a 3.06GHz P4 to the 3700+ and have seen a 50% increase in my FPS across CS:S, COD2, BF2 etc. Yeah, so it's getting fazed out, but that's what you get for the price, and I didn't fancy having to bin (donate to my wife) my 6 month old AGP 6800GT. Very pleased with the results (if it did take me a while to work out why the onboard Ethernet wasn't working, installing drivers would have helped obviously).
  8. Bonesey, I'd probably find time to watch it if I knew anyone playing, and I guess that unless you've managed to sort something out with your internet connection then that isn't gunna be the case. Best of luck to BBC none the less. Lev.
  9. Didn't take long, keep on racing Nice looking car btw.
  10. I get an error saying the file can't be found. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What he said
  11. "For instance, when he does math, he said, "I see landscapes in my mind. The numbers turn to shapes."" This explains Keanu Reeves' acting and character in The Matrix trilogy, it wasn't wooden acting as I'd previously thought, just his superb interpretation of an autistic savant. Give the man an Oscar Disclaimer: Sorry if this offends anyone, it was a dig at Reeves, not autistic savants.
  12. Duma, be sure to let me know where you work so if I do amputate a limb and need something quick, I know where to avoid
  13. Bones, just a thought, try NHS Direct NHS Direct or try finding and going to a BUPA GP if it's that urgent, think it's about 40 quid to see one, but if it's that urgent may be worth it.
  14. Sorry to hear about your Herpes or other equally unpleasant infection Bones. Having experienced both systems, I'm pretty pleased to say that things here in the US seem to be much better than in the UK. Yeah, health insurance is a must, but with the extra cost you do get better service in general. In the event that you've got something seriously wrong with you, you've got 3 options (as far as I know, please correct me if I'm wrong). Having 2 little one's I've had reasonably regular visits to the doctors with them. Book a doctor's appointment, this can be a day or 2 at times. Go to urgent care, this is a much quicker option and I can't say we've ever had to wait much more than 20 minutes to see someone. Or Emergency room, last resort option if you've severed a leg or something. The other side is that even with health insurance, you still have to pay to see the doctor in the US, only about $15 with my health insurance, but I think it still discourages people who've not got anything that really needs attention from going. I know they talked about implementing a similar system in the UK, but everyone shouted from the rooftops that they shouldn't have to pay so it never happened. As with many state funded things, the NHS in the UK is a great idea, but it just doesn't have the funding it needs, despite having private health when I was in the UK, my only hospital visit was on the NHS and they couldn't have been any quicker to deal with me, but I know this experience is a rare one.
  15. This sounds like my kind of thing, visit to the theatre is planned.
  16. Never saw the original cartoon series, see the movie's coming out shortly and the trailer looks good (nothing to do with Charlize Theron .......... honest). Aeon Flux Movie Site Anyone know much about it?
  17. Having watched Ali G for about 5 years, from the days when he was just an extra on "The 11 O'Clock Show" in the UK, I really think it's time for him to find new material, it was hilarious for the first 2 years, but all very much the same now. Borat, on the other hand, I could watch, year in year out. On another note, the funniest line I've seen on TV in quite some time: "They let Sarah Jessica Parker's face on TV ..... and she looks like a foot." Pure class Peter Griffin, pure class.
  18. Just gorgeous, it's the only reason I play, again, probably why I die so often.
  19. Need admin to MW Scopeless "Aunt Jemima" STEAM_0:1:6046217 07:40 92 0 active needs a ban to begin with, repeated tk etc.
  20. Great deal of help, I'm not swinging from the ceiling singing my ISPs praises generally anyway, they seem quite erratic. At least I know I'm not alone and it's not something going screwy with my pc. I get the random "picking stuff up from the floor" thingy once in a while, not that often, about as often as the characters disappear, so I guess that's what it is. Thanks again Lev
  21. I was originally Sancho!!! when I used to play DF, Mohaa etc. as a homage to the true star of Orgazmo. But I moved over to Leveller during my Soldier of Fortune 2 days, when I read an article about Chinese warfare, I believe the heading was "Unrestricted War: the Leveller"
  22. I see your point, it looks like they still haven't released a Beta so these things may get ironed out. Although at times, I feel like hit boxes in regular CSS are even further out (at least he was actually aiming at the guy )
  23. Thanks for replying guys, at least I know I'm not the only person ever afflicted by this.
