I am going to buy a laptop this week for school. I will only be using it for surfing, doing homework, and compiling programs. Also, i need something that is small, inexpensive (<$600), and has long battery life. I have been thinking of getting either the ASUS Eee PC 1000 ($550), or the MSI Wind U100 ($500). I'm very indecisive and don't know which to choose. Anyone have any suggestions?

whoa.. I hope this is all true. I have a 1.5 year old sd800 which is, unfortunately, in perfect working condition. What should I do to "break" it???
