  1. I have come to this conclusion as well. It turns out that a friends computer just crashed and he is letting me use his 8800GTX OC, so I got a 20 fps boost on high-end games. I am going to research more about the "baking" and decide if I should do it.
  2. I tried putting my card in a duplicate system running XP. It had the same problem. Its two years old so no warranty. So I might just bake it. I have nothing to lose!
  3. I have 3 month old drivers. I'm installing new ones now. And I have a separate hard drive for testing with XP. I'm going to do some testing on there. Thanks for the advice!
  4. My graphics card is choosing to be dramatic. It is crashing my computer at random times. So these are the symptoms: The computer crashes to a black screen but the power stays on. The monitor loses the signal and the audio and keyboard/mouse controls cut out. The computer will not POST after a restart. Removing all power to the graphics card for 30 seconds and putting it back in allows my PC to boot again. RivaTuner showed me that the core temp was bouncing from 60 degrees to 0 degrees Celsius every other second. The GPU fan speed is running at 100%. It normally idles at 40%. You will notice in the center of the image the core temperature bouncing up and down. So this is what I did: I took the graphics card out and inspected it for any burst capacitors, disconnected cables, and burn/scorch marks. I found nothing. I then booted into Win7 and looked over RivaTuner, finding problem #3. I then got another crash. I restarted again into the bios, checking for any abnormalities with no results. But I noticed after an hour in the BIOS, the computer did not crash. If I was in the OS, it would have certainly crashed by then. I then lowered my clock frequency quite a bit. The core temp sensor is now reading 48 Celsius. But the GPU fan thinks it still should be running the fan at 100%. After doing all of that I managed to get it to not crash after 1 hour. Does anybody have a clue on what may be going on with my graphics card? System Specs: MSI NX8800GTS Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 OCZ GameXStream 700W G.SKILL 2GB GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L

    Bye

Because there's no trolls playing that?
  7. I would agree that the hardware is lacking quite a bit. The mytouch has the same hardware but without the crappy slide.
  8. Solution to all problems. Oh, and this will work too. One thing obviously makes these the winners. The option to get it unlocked. That or making it open by yourself. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10116531-1.html
  9. That just doesn't sound right...but try: ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew I meant restarting the server with init 6.
  10. lemme know how that goes...you run into a winblows tcpip stack convention of a 'max limit' of half open connections...so i assume openwrt has a torrent 'plugin' to avoid the winblows saves all convention...like normal tcpip implementations. I just got IPcop up and running. I don't like how you need to restart the pc when ever you want to renew the dhcp from the modem. Other than that, ports are FINALLY getting forwarded. The linksys I had before had a problem with that. The next project is to set up a wireless router on a DMZ.
  11. I think I'm going to set up IPcop. My router/firewall is not forwarding ports properly so I think its going to be a good change. I was trying to avoid doing IPcop because the only spare computer is really unreliable. Its mainly made of spare parts from 2 different computers. What I'm also going to do is just not have zone alarm start up and use it only when I'm not behind a hardware firewall. Thanks for all your suggestions! I will let you know how IPcop turns out. Wish me luck! I've never had good luck with configuring the red interface with DHCP.
  12. I have zone alarm right now. Its taking over my computer and making everything painfully slow. Any suggestions?
  13. Man, I mmissed it. Seems it got yanked. NinjaVideo has it
  14. I would have to agree. When I can get in, everybody can.
  15. I requested to join the GC group... I haven't been accepted yet... *cough*
  16. Catchy, but the auto-tune technique they used is kinda choppy.
  17. Nobody decided to mention Billy Mays?
  18. I was thinking the same thing.
  19. edit: The voltage of the ram was not the issue. Currently it is running at 1.8v. I set it to 2.1 volts and it made no difference. I did find the front bus audio cord wrapping around the graphics card. I removed that and put it away from the ram, cpu, power supply to the mobo, and the graphics card. the issue is still there. I updated the drivers, and its still there. Any more clues?
  20. I have Gskill ram. I used updated drivers and that caused my mic to not work. So I used the drivers from the OEM CD and the mic now works. I'll check my ram too and post it later.
  21. This is the problem. When ever I use my headphone port on the front of my case I get a buzzing when ever the computer processes something. For an example, if I move the firefox window to the left and right... that will do some buzzing. When I'm in left for dead, there is constant buzzing. Now when I don't do anything, its silent. I just formatted my PC and installed new drivers for both the audio bus and the standard audio drivers. I did NOT have this problem before the install so I don't believe its hardware related. And this does NOT happen from the audio port on the motherboard. I installed the same audio drivers I had before I reinstalled my OS and the problem is still there. My case gives two options for the headphone port on the front. AC97 and HD Audio. Both cause the buzzing. Also, I made no hardware changes so I don't think its any grounding issue. Motherboard: Gigabyte P35-DS3L Version 2 (onboard sound) Any suggestions?
