  1. Going around looking for updated drivers.. Found some for my Creative card from Creative. Yes they are a beta version, but I will try them out see if they work etc. Maybe better then the Vista-hacked ones I'm using. Haven't seen one for NV yet, I guess they are waiting for RC1 to come out NEXT WEEK!#!#! Also a Direct X update. But probably nothing important in that.

    Vodka??

The number 1 use for vodka is for drinking, not removing band-aids... Thx.
  3. What constitutes a sweet rig? I may have parts and pieces of old stuff laying around, in which you could play window's solitare on.
  4. "Official" Win7 Drivers for all NV cards. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-dr...seven,7170.html
  5. Please find this kid and add him to perma ban [HZ] PFC. GunSlinger
  6. There was a kid on with obvious issues and I meant to only ban him, but I also banned TheBabyFacedAssassin. I think I unbanned him in the server, but if he posts, it was my bad.
  7. I have 2 8800GT in SLI. Windows stock drivers do not support SLI (from all observations at least, I couldn't figure out how to enable...), not only that, but I couldn't get any gpu fan controller programs to work with the stock windows drivers. I got the same fail on update install of new gpu drivers, and I did reboot, but they still didn't install. The only reason I installed chipset drivers was as a last resort to see if that was the prob. Nope. Man, I think I'm jinxed. Thanks for your input though. I may just wipe and reinstall, then try again. I wonder if a bios update would help? I am running dual 8800gt in SLI with the stock Win7 drivers from Win7. When you install it the first time it says if failed, then just restart, and you should have a popup in the bottom right of the task bar saying something about recognizing SLI. If not, you "should" be able to right click on the desktop and go to the NVidia tab, and you can set up SLI there. I've reformatted about 3 times since getting Win7 trying out things etc, and every time the Win7 drivers worked. They aren't the best, but they work the best for me. As for a fan controller, I use the latest Rivatuner, also works with no problems... at least I think.
  8. Why are you installing drivers?? I have 780i w/ 8800gt and xfi sound card. The ONLY drivers I have installed are for the XFI card. Vista comes with the drivers you need for mobo, and GFX, there is a driver for the GFX through win update, that will say it phailed upon install, but if you reboot, it works. Unless you are using equipment that you have to install drivers for, I would not install any. ie You plug in your onboard ethernet/sound and it works w/o a hitch. On XP for example, you would have to have the drivers.
  9. 4. Our detection rates represent the TRUE POSITIVE detection rates. The results do not take into consideration the false positive rate of a given tool, and thus a tool that declares everything to be infected would appear to have the highest true positive percentage rate. I'll just make an AV that says everything is a virus, and get the best rating on their test..... My little Kaspersky got 8th, which is surprising, I would think it would be higher... but considering the others are free, and that is what everyone wants, then you would obviously have more people working extremely hard to keep 50% of the worlds population from crashing..
  10. c4_dynamic is interesting, sometimes it works, others not. It depends on the angle/lighting/veiwpoint that you see the bomb from. Not worth worrying about.
  11. You can restart as admin in safe mode and go from there... I think anyway.
  12. I've been playing Crysis on and off for the last 2 weeks, and after a while it starts to artifact and freeze, then again, sometimes is plays through perfectly fine. I have also had CSS crash on me, but only 2x since I installed Win7. Overall for a beta, it's still not bad. I have had some problems with getting programs to work, but that is expected.
  13. DO NOT FALL FOR THE HDMI RIP OFF. Every HDMI cable IS more or less the same. The only reason they make 10Gb cable is for if you are going long distances. TV to PS3 is max of 4ft? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16812189053 I am using that to my PS3 in 1080P format, no problems, and will have another tomorrow for my cable box.
  14. Try bumping your fan speed before you jump into buying a new card, if your not wanting to spend any money. If it is like other cards, its only running at 30% speed.
  15. I was having the same problem with Daemon and Alcohol 120. I found PowerISO works perfectly on Vista and Win7. Unlike some versions of the previously mentioned.
  16. IMPORTANT WIN7 UPDATE!#!@!#@!@!@ I'M SO STOKED!! RESTARTING NOW@!##! Looks like it was just a patch for the mp3 and wmp error, which I didn't get, but I guess others did.
  17. Do you know how many of those commands either don't work, or are already defaulted by the game? Probably over 50%. This is a real man's config: budget_show_history 1 cl_allowdownload 0 cl_allowupload 0 cl_autohelp 0 cl_cmdrate 120 cl_crosshairalpha 999 cl_crosshairusealpha 1 cl_crosshairscale 2000 cl_downloadfilter "nosounds" cl_dynamiccrosshair 0 cl_interp 0 cl_interpolate 0 cl_interp_all 0 cl_interp_ratio 1 cl_lagcompensation 1 cl_lagcomp_errorcheck 0 cl_minmodels 1 cl_min_ct 4 cl_min_t 4 cl_observercrosshair 0 cl_radaralpha 250 cl_ragdoll_collide 1 cl_ragdoll_physics_enable 1 cl_righthand 1 cl_smooth 1 cl_smoothtime .01 cl_timeout 20 cl_updaterate 120 fps_max 126 hideradar net_graph 3 net_graphheight 120 net_graphpos 2 rate 25000 r_maxmodeldecal 100 sensitivity 2.3 voice_enable 1
  18. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...mp;Tpk=ln40a650 What I got for my apt, may go up a few inches or a model number if you want something a little more snazzy, but picture quality is probably the best you can get. IMO. And you can't beat the Egg price... anywhere. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16889102198 Is the 46" version.. if you really want a bigger TV, personally I think it may be too big, my 40" takes up plenty of room, and you can see clearly from FAR away. I have nothing bad to say about it, but don't know where to start with good things. Plays ANY sport in HD superbly, PS3 and 1080P is AMAZINGx2, most games don't utilize all 1080P but some of the more popular ones like MGS do, and BluRay Batman makes you change your pants.. at least 3 times per hour. They make up to an A950 now I think, and there are VERY few differences between 650 750 850 and 950. I would look them up for you and post it, but then I would be doing all the work for you, and that is just unfair. If you are unsure about a TV, pick some out and go to your local BB and look at them in rooms, then go back and get it online, you will save $$$ tax $$ and with the Egg probably free shipping.
  19. Downloaded off of ZD's recommended site, and got 64bit key, had no problems with the download or the burn or the install. Pretty nice overall, somethings I don't like: the taskbar icons, and grouping of windows, which I finally got removed, NVidia drivers were downloaded off of Windows Update, and when installed it said "failed" however Window's said it installed properly... No idea what is up with that, and both video cards have been found. Tried to install Vista 64 drivers from NVidia, and it wouldn't even load. The XFi post ZD made was because of me, not a big issue, just a stupid error on either MS or Creative's part. Played CSS for quite a while today with only 1 crash, but only because my GPU's overheat too easily, so I installed the latest RivaTuner and had no problems at all afterwards. I have Crysis and L4D installed as we speak. Will probably try Crysis first!! GOOOOOOOOOO DX10! Which remind's me, the Win7 does not include the latest DX on it, so get on MS and download the updater, and you'll get patches from all the way back in 06.... Will keep up with post's as I find new things or problems!

    Ir image's

Your video card(s) are running cool.... Looks like a fun toy though.

    PS3

I got LittleBig, and it's pretty fun, it starts to get really challenging once you make it through most of the levels. Have not tried the online part yet, but I heard it is supposed to be even better. You can d/l demos from the online store and try out a bunch of games if you don't want to go into the store with nothing going in.
  22. I don't know how they come up with the chart. I would assume there are a couple factors. But this is what I go by... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon...ics,2086-7.html And this would be the most popular benchmark with recent cards tested.... http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/gaming-...-Score,794.html I personally haven't looked at getting any new card's recently so I don't know the price per performance you can get out of the newer cards, but I can tell you, unless you want to play some Extremely Intense graphic games on Extreme settings then that is the ONLY reason to get a 280 260 or 4780. If you just want to play games like CSS or L4D or COD4, all you need is an 8800 or equal.
  23. If it's a heating issue w/ the video card, you can either return it under warranty, or just use RivaTuner and beef up the fan speed. I have 2 8800GT 512 SC cards, and they would run hot and crash on Crysis (70-80c), beefed up the fan to 50% instead of 30, and now everything is happy. And the noise increase was minimal if that is a big issue for you. And now that I think about it, your card may have a "safety" feature that will shut down the computer when your card hits a certain temp. They do the same thing on motherboards for CPU's that get too hot. Getting a 3rd party cooler works too, however I recommend getting Riva, it's easy to setup also. If you need help let me know, or I'm sure others could help too.
  24. If he has some kind of hardware background from making his own boards... maybe? Sounds fishy to me. And yes, that voids any and all warranties on any parts modded, and if its a Dell, it could void the whole system not just the motherboard.
  25. Drivers for the Mobo "should" work, I usually go straight to the manufacturer, and download the latest and greatest. Same for your ATI card, download the latest and greatest. Best possible problem could be the ram, use only 1 stick until you get everything updated and rolling. I would assume there is a power outlet ON your ATI card for extra power, make sure that is plugged in, that could cause issues with the drivers installed because the computer starts running everything in pretty mode, and without the extra power, it will BSOD. Also you have your 24 pin and 4/8 pin connectors plugged into your motherboard. (just looking at a the mobo pick really quick) The 4 pin looks like it is all the way on the top left corner of the board. It could also be an issue with Vista, and you may have to do an update for that before you install your ATI card drivers. I don't use ATI and never liked them, but my info should help a little... I hope. ZD may have an answer.
