If you are having trouble with the new models and TK'ing, type cl_minmodels 1 in to console. It makes all skins default from your point of view.

How competent are you with computers? I'm sure you could build a relatively low end pc that is able to handle browsing and word procs cheaper then the current $299 - $399 Dell Special. If you ask nicely, I'm sure some of the guys around here in the GC community have older compenents lying around rotting away.. I know I do.. Maybe you could just offer to pay for shipping... just a suggestion.

I laughed out loud.. most people switch to the losing side to help them out.. farmer switches to the winning side to help the losing team out.. i think an autobalancer would prove itself useful on #1 and #2. Also, it would be "neat-o" if we could program it to link with a player's total, accumulated stats and balance accordingly, rather then simply by the player's current score.

My experience with running and pubbing servers has been that the following maps tend to "kill" servers: de_aztec de_prodigy de_assault de_tides de_dust de_compound de_port ..the following maps are usually favorites and safe: de_dust2 cs_office cs_italy cs_piranesi de_cbble de_chateau de_inferno cs_militia de_nuke de_train and the following maps, which although mostly only known by regulars and competitive payers, can be alot of fun to pub: de_contra de_beta_mill de_losttemple de_russka de_cpl_fire I would suggest including the typical "favorite" maps in the cycle.. and throwing in some of the mills, fires, contras on a regular basis..

HLSW - Half Life Server Watch is also a great program for running a server out of game. Its free and easy to get up and running as well.
