  3. Just turn the little nozzles so the the red ends are all up and down. the turn the big wheel. Finnished chapter 1, need to buy the game to go to chapter 2. Ended up running outa fuel and parachuting out of the spacecraft onto a living moon/animal. Very interesting game. Shaftiel
  4. I'm afraid its looking pretty bleak for Immutable about now. I am as guilty as anyone for this situation. But I just can't get myself interested in Gun Game right now. Sigh. I dislike situations like this, but its like your favorite mom and pop resturant that you use to go to all the time. You get busy, find other tastes, and you don't go back to that wonderful place for awhile. You just assume that since it has been there for you, then it will always be there for you. Only to come back a few months or years later and find a chain store fast food place has replaced your beloved resturant. You can't help but feel somehow responsible for that poor mom and pop resturant going under. But it wasn't just that you left, it was because lots of people left. Prices for goods went up, profits went down. The poor old owners were just that, poor and old. It's not entirely your fault, but placing blame is a fools game. It was a great place for awhile, wonderful memories of sitting with your friends, drinking, playing and joking with each other. But everything is in transit. Nothing can be forever. We can morn that which is lost, and remember the good times. Then we must move on. The future is truly the promised land. It is there that we will find what we seek, and what we have lost. Heres to hoping that the fast food chain serves some damn good food. Shaftiel

    Fair enough. Like I said, while its not the best decision for me, if its whats best for GC, then I'm behind it 97% (3% selfish indignation heh ). Out of, lets say 100 for easy math, people who just 8 - 12 months ago I saw regularly on West, now I see 7, maybe 10. No, 10 is to generous. As with all of you, I do not know if there is any one particular answer as to why this is. Perhaps it is just a normal cycle of ebb and flow that occures with any game. Newer games come out and capture the imagination and time from the older ones. To be honest, I play more for the community experience and team play now than for the game itself. Perhaps thats why I don't find Gun Game very exciting, its just a race to see who gets to the end with no regard for your fellow team mates. For me that gets old real fast. I appreciate everyones work and thought that has gone into trying to save Immutable. I know that I'm relativly new here, and that quite a few of you have put much more of yourself into Immutable than I. So I know that you will do what you need to do, and if that means shutting down Immutable, it will be a much harder decision for some of you than most would think. Shaftiel

    I don't know if this is possible... If we could combine team play and Gun Game. Regular Gun Game, no deathmatch, objectives are the same as CSS, either bomb the target or rescue hostages. So the only way get get a better gun is by killing one opponent, or the whole team gets upgraded by completeing the objective. On de maps T's need to have the bomb go off, CT's need to kill all of the T's and/or defuse the bomb. On cs maps T's need to kill all of the CT's, and the CT's need to rescue the hosties and/or kill all of the T's. At least that would help maintain the team structure, and motivate the teams to complete the objectives. That would make Gun Game interesting for me. But like I said, don't know if thats possible.     I agree that Loki is, and has, done a great job. Since there was very little if any discusion about this change in the forums that I have access to, I just wanted to get my take on it out there. I have tried to support Immutable as best I can, but I admit that I was one of the people that would choose to play on Retro instead of jumping on west and hanging with the bots. After the talk about Immutables future last week, I have been much more apt to try and start West up. I have been successful everytime I tried, which was kinda shocking to me heh . After about 5 - 10 minutes Immutable would go from 3 bots and me, to about 12 - 15 players. Still not a full server I know, but much better than 3 bots and me. Like I said, if this is the best move for Immutable and GC, then I'm all for it. I'm just not going to be able to play on Immutable for more than an hour or so at a time heh. Shaftiel Ok, you modified your post while I was typing.. fiend. Gun game get boring for me because there is very little to it. Perhaps I'm playing it wrong, but I don't see much chance for team work or strategies. I like those qualities in CSS, and they seem to be missing in Gun Game.

    Gun Game is fun for about half an hour to an hour. After that it gets boring... I would hate to see West go this route permenently, because I would end up playing on Retro much much more. Its selfish of me I know, but I'm not going to grit my teeth and suffer through playing gun game for hours on end to save Immutable. I payed my money, and will continue to do so because I love this community and the people in it. But I do not have fun playing Gun Game, so I will not be playing on Immut very much until it changes. If it works and you get lots of traffic great! Hopefully we can convert some of them and get a large GG contingent of GC'ers. If this change is best for GC then great, full speed ahead!! But its not best for me heh . Shaftiel

  16. Just thinking about it and a few movies came to mind: Gallipoli - 1981. The story of two Australian friends and sprinting competitors who face the horrors of the Gallipoli offensive durring WW1. Its a increadibly moving story and movie. Stars a young Mel Gibson. The Natural - 1984. Robert Redford as an amazing baseball pitcher who has his career ended early with a bullet wound, only to come back in his middle age to even greater glory. Again, just an amazing story with an all star cast. Das Boot - 1981. This movie tells the story of the claustrophobic, terrifying life aboard a German U-boat during WWII. Its only 5 hours long. Heh . It really does carry you through the 5 hours with very little down time. The Untouchables - 1987. Story of the prohibition era Chicago, as Elliot Ness takes on Al Capon. Stars Robert Deniro, Sean Connery, Andy Garcia, and Kevin Costner. Great musical score, wonderful sets and fast paced story. Shaftiel

These are the requirments as listed for CSS: Minimum: 1.2 GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, DirectX 7 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP/ME/98, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection Recommended: 2.4 GHz Processor, 512MB RAM, DirectX 9 level graphics card, Windows 2000/XP, Mouse, Keyboard, Internet Connection So I would think that you could run CSS. I would suggest starting with everything on the lowest settings and looking at your fps via net_graph3. Then if your satisfied with your fps you can adjust the settings for the best balance of fps and graphics. This topic ( http://www.gamrs.co/forums/in...showtopic=20942 ) has some great info on tweaking CSS using a config file. Hope that helps. Shaftiel

  21. I disagree, if you give the humans time to disperse and fortify themselves, it would be very difficult for the zombie to convert others. Additionaly, since it is a random person, regardless of how much time you allow before the zombie is spawned, you will always run the risk of having it spawn right next to you or your group. Except you will have no chance at all if you have already fortified yourself in with the zombie heh . Shaftiel Okay, but It need to be at least a little longer. On the level City Defence (i think it was) the T's spawned in a room with a slow opening door.... If it you spawned in there then they were all Zomb's no matter what. True, that did blow. But I think thats more a map problem than a mod issue. Shaftiel

  23. With the zombies unable to regen, unlimited ammo seems like overkill. Having more ammo, but still needing to reload is a better solution I think. Plus having to conserve ammo makes it a more strategic game. Nothing is scarier than having to run from your cover to grab a gun thats on the ground because you ran outa ammo. More time per round is a must, as is being able to push and pull things. Zombies need to be fast, otherwise they would never be able to catch anyone. I would like to see the para allowed, but not the autosniper rifles. Just my personal preferance. Zombies having more health is also important. In the first critical moments it seemed to easy for the humans to dispatch the zombie. Shaftiel

  25. I'd like to apologize to everyone that was on West last night when I jumped on. According to Steam there was nobody playing, and the map was Assualt. I was trying to get some traffic on the server and jumped on and switched it to Dust2. After the map loaded I was happy to see quite a few people logging on, only to find out that I had interupted a game in proggress on Assualt. My appologies to those players that had there fun interupted. It was not my intent and I will be more careful in the future Shaftiel
