Bewildered

Ok, so my wife is selling some stuff on Craig's list (about a hundred or so stamping sets for making cards) and they aren't moving locally and she is getting requests to ship. So, what forms of payment should we accept to guarantee that we actually get paid? We were accepting cash only, locally. After the recent paypal/ebay security issues, I don't feel like I really know anymore. Alternatively, it may be cheaper for us to just slowly reduce the individual prices until they start moving.

I know, and I wasn't even around on Friday when most of the fun started.

Haven't gotten anything yet. I got the letter that said we were getting 1200, and when we did our taxes - TurboTax said the same thing. We're gonna use it to buy some of the materials for the 280 feet of wood privacy fence I'm puttin up this summer. Found out that if you bribe ppl with smoked meat, they'll offer to come help run the 2-man auger. Yay.

I remembered why I had to buy the stickers .... I was pretty po'd actually. I started poppin keys out and found that the design for the F and J keys was different then the design for the other keys. So that you could swap those two keys (useless) but you couldn't move them around or put other keys in their spots. Anyway, if you have a keyboard where you can't for some reason move your keys, then those stickers are great. Also, you get both sets of labels then which is handy if my wife needs to use my computer.

I use oeu. for directional buttons (equivalent to sdfe on QWERTY) That gives me an extra button to the left, so my pinky crouches (a button -- a is same on both layouts) and my pinky walks with the shift button. ' and , (equivalent of Q and W) are my voicecomm buttons one for ingame and one for ventrillo. I'm not sure I like that actually, as I'm often confused about which button to press. P is my use button (equivalent to R on the stupid layout) M is the same key on both layouts, but I had to change my switch teams key to v to move it away from the b key. Otherwise, I'd find that I'd accidentally switch teams instead of buying. Thats about it really. I don't use the flashlight, but its still the f key, which I can stretch to reach with my index finger (Y key on the bad layout). On my mouse, left button is shoot, right button is the secondary function, like scope/zoom or silence. I've played with moving that to the left hand, but I don't have a sixth finger to press it! Occasionally, I'll bump my right button when I don't mean to and end up putting my silencer on while I'm gettin my face shot at. The forward side button (mouse 4?) is to toss away weapons and the other one is to reload. Scroll wheel is set to jump. middle mouse button currently does nothing, but I'd like to set it to throw a flash grenade (if I can find something that does that legally). Anyway, thats my setup. I think I liked my setup MUCH better when I had a split style kinesis keyboard ... I found my thumb was quite busy (There's a thumb area with about 5 keys it can easily access on that keyboard), but I've learned to make do since switching

The point was that its difficult to know how much money to give out and very easy to completely reverse the momentum and skew the game in the other direction. Mookie, for example, suggested giving out 800 to the loser of the pistol round. Waiting until the 5th round is too late, as the losing team is already getting more money per round than the winning team. By the time the 5th loss rolls around, more often than not, the game is actually close ... e.g. almost everyone on both sides is dying. Maybe its 3 vs 1 as the round ends. In this situation, giving out money to one team doesn't balance things. The winning side doesn't necessarily have much money, and now the losing side has their 3400 they get for losing 5 consecutive rounds + whatever money you gave them. Now, we wrongfully hand out money, and after a round or two of turn around the winning team is tapped out of money and all you've done is turn it upside down. I believe what you want to do is, give out less money earlier, like for example, after the 2nd or 3rd loss give enough money for a complete buy for the losing team. OR: hand out equal money to both sides Loss 1 $1,400 Lose 2 in a row $1,900 (1400 + 500) Lose 3 in a row $2,400 (1900 + 500) Lose 4 in a row $2,900 (2400 + 500) Lose 5 in a row $3,400 (2900 + 500) Capped @ $3,400

It took me a few days to get close to normal speed, and a few months to perfect. I'd never go back .... QWERTY is the devil. I just did the sort of key memory exercises you'd expect to have to do to learn it.
