I like my bullets to go all over the place. With the AK, for example, you should always just hold the trigger and hope for the best.

I was spec'ing, but I didn't know how to capture a demo I do now .... apparently all I had to do was type 'record blah.dem' in console and then 'stop' later on. Hindsight, I shoulda logged off and found out how to do one, and then came back. It took less than 5 seconds to find the answer when I went lookin......bleah ... I will be ready next time. One of the players .. John Kimble (I think I got his name right) had demos of atleast 2 of them. pH and scAr from dust2 and cbble ... he may have gotten demos on the next map as well, but then he got banned and didn't come back. So I dunno whats up with that. There was another guy named (heh) Undies that I think had demos also.

Probably because there are too many words -- man o man is that guy wordy. Reading it reminds me of a quote from Amadeus:

I like to read too, but now I have so many tech books I need to read that I never make time to read fun stuff. I've read most of the author's mentioned -- although the last WoT book I finished was Book 7. Someday, I will buy the whole thing on CD and listen to it in the car an the way to and from work, starting from the beginning. I recommend Pompeii, if you ever get a chance. The story is told in an incredibly mechanical fashion, such that computer/engineering geeks, like I assume a lot of us are, would enjoy. The last half-hour or so is downright amazing as he ticks down to the end. Books like this -- that I probably don't have the attention span to read by myself -- I listen to the audio version.

So, I should adjust them based on the map? Like, if I'm getting 25 frames per second in some laggy map, then I should adjust my cmdrate down to 25? Do you put it at about the average, or at the max. So, most maps my fps doesn't go over 50, and its usually down at 35-40. Should I set cmdrate at 40 then? With that 3/4 thing I suppose I should just write down a few numbers so I can change them on the fly. Doh. Now heres the odd thing. Turning the netgraph on will show you the info that you can use to tune your connection. Why oh why then don't the CS developers just use that information internally to tune it. Why make me do it?

This is mostly just a follow-up, but I have a question too. My problem is gone. I did all of the things recommended here. I popped open the case and blew everything out. Oddly enough, my 120mm case fan had become disconnected. This took care of the reboot problem. I still had problems with CS:S locking up occasionally, I uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, and did a clean install of Steam and that did the trick. Now, heres the question. ZD was complaining about registration again (doh!), and the subject came up about monitors, FPS, etc. My FPS is still incredibly low; I'm usually between 30 and 50. Is it mostly just that my system is old -- so just all around weak? Or is there possibly a weak link in my current hardware? Besides the hardware listed above, I have an ACER LCD -- 16 ms response. Honestly, are there any LCDs that would give a decent response -- like if I upgraded to one of those fancy 2 ms response LCD monitors? Or should I wait for an OLED monitor? Please edumacate me.

Whats your favorite PBJ combination? I found an interesting combination today. Cinammon infused peanut butter, with jalopeno pepper jelly. Target has these flavored peanut butters that I've been experimenting with. The dark chocolate is pretty good by itself, but I haven't figured out yet what jelly would go well with it.
