  1. 1. I play CS: Source and Left 4 Dead mostly. I have the Orange Box, but I've never played any of the games on it except for Team Fortress 2 (I stopped playing before they released Goldrush). 2. I don't own any consoles. 3. I don't know much about upcoming games except for Diablo 3, which you mentioned. I try reading previews of games on IGN.com, but there's always a lot. I don't really read them all since it's hard to tell which of them seem promising. 4. Of those games that you listed, I have a little interest in Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Dawn of War 2, and FEAR 2. I'm waiting for the price to drop on Fallout 3, waiting for Grand Theft Auto 4 to get patched adequately (or Saint's Row 2 to get patched adequately first), and looking for more information on Dawn of War 2 and FEAR 2. I was going to get Mass Effect a while back, but I am a bit wary of the DRM debate surrounding it. Out of those 4, Fallout 3 is not multiplayer, so I guess it's not a game we can play together. I don't think people will play GTA4 (have to sign up for Windows Live account for PC or something, and it's a bit old for console people) or FEAR 2 (multiplayer is said to be an average shooter) in groups. I don't know how people feel about Dawn of War 2; I probably won't jump into it right away since I'm bad at RTS. Currently, I try not to spend a lot on games, so I don't know what I'll be playing in the near future.
  2. Is your hard drive the same as mine? Seagate 500GB 7200.11? If so, it could be a firmware problem. http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/self...sp?DocId=207951 Mine was one of the hard drives that are known to have this problem, ST 3500320AS with SD15 firmware. I upgraded the firmware a day or two ago. I don't know if this is what's wrong with your computer, but it's worth a look; some customers have reported "clicking" sounds coming from their hard drives before they failed. Here's one or two other links to look at: http://www.virtual-hideout.net/articles/Se...ues/index.shtml http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php...9266&page=3 You can find a lot more links on this stuff on the Internet if you google "seagate 7200.11 + firmware + whatever" or a combination of those terms. Hope your problem isn't your hard drive.
  3. Yeah, I used to use Mcafee on my last computer, but I am currently using Avira for my new one. Much less CPU usage in comparison. The reason could have been that my computer was older (it's about 2 and a half years old now), but the updating and scanning was really heavy for some reason.
  4. "I want Brian. Sorry, must have read the script wrong...moaning." "Moooaaannninngggg." Wasn't that the plot of Resident Evil: Degeneration?
  5. Hope everyone at GC had a good Valentine's day.
  6. Jedi one- http://www.robotchicken.org/index.php?titl...Master_George_W. Superhero one- http://www.robotchicken.org/index.php?titl...Texas_is_Coming I've never watched the superhero one before, so thanks for letting me know. I haven't watched Robot Chicken in a long time; I should probably catch up on it soon. I was also going to post a small paper I wrote about Robot Chicken about a year and a half ago in my spare time, but I think it's too long to post here. EDIT: The period at the end of the first link wasn't included in the URL, so I had to edit it in. 2nd EDIT: Meh, let me try to fix it again. If this doesn't work, you may have to put a period in yourself.
  7. Yeah, Survival could be like that zombie mini game in COD where you fight endless waves of zombies. It could be something entirely different though (I hope). I don't mind if it's going to cost some money as long as they keep it small (like 10-15 dollars) and as long as the content is worth it. If not, I might not buy it right away until the price dropped a bit. Btw, I like your sig.
  8. Not only have I seen that pic before, I once saw that movie. I'm too lazy to look it up but it was her and Dan Ackroyd(?) as cops who go undercover in a sex resort of some sort. And no amount of alcohol or therapy has been able to "bleach" that from my memory. Lol, me too, Shropshire. I didn't see the whole thing, but I saw about 5 minutes of the film on Comedy Central once. I was so confused when I saw her. I did catch a glimpse of a young Laura Harring, and it probably would have been a better movie if she was starring in that getup. I looked up the film just now on imdb.com, and it's called "Exit to Eden (1994)," so if anyone sees that name on a list of programs, beware.
  9. Heh, I didn't get the game, but I did play the demo of Max Payne 2 a couple years ago. I thought it was pretty fun. I won't buy it now because I'm thinking about getting Stranglehold instead (kinda similar play mechanics, but I'm a fan of John Woo...so Stranglehold it is. ) My best time in Dead Man Walking mode was 10 minutes, 44 seconds.
  10. Happy (belated) birthdays, guys.
  11. Happy (belated) birthdays, guys.
  12. My new computer works now. I got the replacement video card last Thursday. I wanted to test it for about a week before posting about it here in case it went bad. So far it's doing okay. Thanks to everyone who helped me pick out components, gave advice on putting it together, and gave me tech support with the bad video card I had: http://www.gamrs.co/forums/in...showtopic=37623 http://www.gamrs.co/forums/in...showtopic=37746 http://www.gamrs.co/forums/in...showtopic=37788
  13. Yes, you must be disappointed that it's a missed opportunity for you to run to a safe place while we battle the zombies on the streets, and then shut the door in our faces while saying, "See you guys later!"
  14. Sorry to hear that, Shaft. Hopefully you are feeling much better.
  15. Happy Birthday. I remember reading about the Challenger in history classes and seeing it every now and then on the news (anniversaries of the tragedy mostly) growing up. Try to enjoy today though.
  16. Lol, I laughed so hard at the end. "Hooray for you!" I think I'll stick with giving myself the thumbs up sign in the mirror. Much, much cheaper to do.
  17. Lol, that sounds pretty cool. I once spawned as a Tank at the saferoom door on the first level of No Mercy. I ended up incapping all 4 survivors (1 was a bot) in the saferoom. I was beating up the guy playing Bill in the saferoom, and his teammates were lagging behind. They closed the door behind them without realizing I was in it. I just ran around the room hitting them. Yeah, I tried restarting. Unfortunately, the bug seems to show up even if I exit the game and rejoin or restart Steam. This bug started to show up for me after the first major update for L4D after Christmas (the one that fixed a lot of the exploits). I dunno, I guess it's something in my files that's missing or something. Heh, that tree sounds like it was the huge tree trunk in Blood Harvest. I saw this video when I was looking at the two I posted above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WldVroXcoNk The tank takes out all 4 survivors using a car in No Mercy.
  18. Happy Chinese New Year. Thanks for the link, Ebil. I didn't know there were elements attached to Chinese zodiacs. The Year of the Ox is my year, so it was fun to read up on it.
  19. Heh, I saw these videos on youtube. They're videos of a guy using a tank to take down all the survivors. I like the way he edited the music and the video together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXvWUWUOBvk...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rY-XLHuFRU There's two different videos (3 if you count the 2 segments in the second video as separate). By the way, I'm getting a bug in L4D where at the end of each map, there's a segment in the loading screen between levels where the Survivors have their stats shown. For example, who took the least damage, how many infected they killed, etc. Depending on who has the highest scores, a portrait of Bill, Louis, Francis or Zoey is shown. Sometimes the portrait doesn't show up, so instead of getting a picture, I get a blank spot. Everything else is there, stats and stuff, but the picture isn't sometimes. It seems to be random but consistent. EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to mention that the second video has some language in there that might be against gc rules. Some of the audio of the survivors seems to be recorded, and at one or two instances, one of them swears.
  20. He's been scrimming a lot in CS recently from what I've seen. Maybe there was a schedule conflict.
  21. Yeah, Preacher recommended that same card to me, and I (finally) got a working one recently. It's pretty cool. I think if you wanted to get a new fan for your video card in the future, they are called aftermarket coolers (?). Someone here probably knows more than I do.
  22. I was actually going to write "Kung foo kittiez!" but it seemed too obvious.
