  1. Actually all the categories carry about the same weight with the multipliers. I'll show you with an example. General CI per minute: 3.37 SI per minute 1.23 (x4 multiplier) = 4.92 Protected per minute: 0.54 (x6 multiplier) = 3.24 Revived per minute: 0.08 (x 20 multiplier) = 1.6 For General, SI per minute has the largest impact. CI and Protected teamamates are close in 2nd and 3rd, and revived teammates has the least impact. _ _ _ _ _ As for fireworks, you're limited to 5 anyways. So that doesn't change much. The one exception would be Kazya, who played most of his time when the server still had unlimited fireworks. So I think that makes his numbers a little bit exaggerated. _ _ _ _ _ I'll do an infected stat sheet too at some point, assuming this one gets positive feedback and not a lot of hurt feelings.
  2. I'm a bit of a stats nerd, and I always wished there was some kind of aggregate stat that looked at everything a player is doing, rather than the bland stats we get showing how many kills we've racked up over the years. So I dug into the stats database a little bit and created a formula (along with a Google Spreadsheet) to track everything for some of the regular players. The way I see it, when you are playing as survivors there are 4 main things you can be doing to help your team. You can kill special infected, you can kill common infected, you can protect your teammates, and you can revive teammates. (You can also heal teammates, but this stat isn't tracked for some reason.) Given the above, I created a formula to put into a Google Spreadsheet. That formula is (CI + 4*SI + 6*TP + 20*R) x 50 CI = Common Infected killed per minute SI = Special Infected killed per minute TP = Teammates protected per minute R = Revived teammates per minute And the x50 is to make the total number larger so you get a big spread between the numbers. The multipliers are obviously subjective, but they aren't arbitrary. I multiply the Teammates Protected by 6 in order to bring that number up to something high enough to effect the overall score. Same with revived teammates being multiplied by 20. Common Infected doesn't get a multiplier because it's the highest number. Feel free to look around and tell me what you think. The doc can be found here. (You can sort the list by right clicking the headers and sorting Z to A or A to Z.) If it was overall numbers Maestro would win everything. Also, if you'd like to be added feel free to let me know. Or if you'd like to be removed I can also do that. And finally, it should be painfully obvious but I'll say it anyways, these numbers don't mean everything. They don't even mean half of everything. This was just for some fun.
  3. Wow, I didn't even realize this contest was going on. I was just killing you out of spite.
  4. I love pro mod and spent several years playing nothing but that, but I don't think it would be a good fit for this server. I think it only becomes really fun after you play it for a while and get a good idea of the tactics involved. I thought it was super boring at first, but grew to love it. Anyways, I'd rather us try a 4 v 4 on here with the way the server is set up now. We never can get a proper tourney going it seems.

    Goodbye GCFTW

Thanks for the support Baloosh. I would hope all the regs on the server know that I'm the ultimate teammate and would never just ditch a team. It's not who I am. And why it's extra sucky that admins just kick/ban at the drop of a hat, and ask questions later. Will miss playing with you as well. You too looney.

    Goodbye GCFTW

My teammates agreed that it wasn't rushing. Including an admin who messaged me that it was wrong that I got kicked. The players who thought I was rushing were 2 players on the opposing team who I've never seen on the server before, and who don't know the difference between a rush and a tactical run for points when hope is lost. Lastly, were you even in the game? Or are you sticking up for an admin because they are an admin, and hence, always right.

    Goodbye GCFTW

Ahh, so I'm overreacting. Admins sticking up for admins...which is a large part of the problem. In any case, as I said in my post..."Having repeated incidents with mods in the past month..." So no, this isn't being punched once. It's repeated punches, making for a lousy gaming experience. In any case, my membership was up anyways, and I had been on the fence about renewing. And the way things have gotten has made the decision a lot easier.
  8. Hi, When I discovered GCFTW about a year ago, I fell in love. I loved the 10 v 10 server because it was largely vanilla, and was well run with mods who wanted a fair and fun game for everyone. Today I am saying goodbye to that server, but in truth, that server hasn't existed for some time. Having repeated incidents with mods in the past month, I feel like I was finally pushed over the edge tonight. On No Mercy 2, about 90% through the map, we had 2-3 deaths, and most of the rest incapped. We also were a noob heavy team and infected had 2 tanks up, wiping us fast. I was a main, so I took an adren and ran the last 10% up the street to the safe room. A very standard tactic in this situation where your team has no shot of recovering. Upon reaching the safe room, Chick called me out for rushing, and then banned me. To those who have played with me for hundreds of hours over the past year...does anyone believe that I am a rusher? Am I not the ultimate die-for-my-team player? I guard noobs in the back who are struggling, I'll fight tanks with even a glimmer of hope to make it through, and when all hope is lost, I'll run for the safe room and get as many points for my team as I can. And this, it was decided, is worthy of a ban. I would like to take this opportunity to say that I feel GCFTW has fallen considerably over the past year from what it once was. The level of admin abuse is truly staggering. I can barely go a game where an admin doesn't do something, on their own whim, that negatively impacts me or another non-admin on the server. While I am stomped instantly for even the slightest perception of a rule break. I would run through the various scenarios that have happened over the past month, but I feel like that would be overkill. In short, I think it is very sad how the server is now run. Not wanting this to be a purely negative post, I would like to say it was quite enjoyable getting to know a lot of you and having a lot of fun gaming. Mad respect for swat, general, and nerdy. I think you guys are the best players on the server, and you always pushed me to be a better player than I am. You were fun to compete with and I'll miss that. I'll also miss all the friends I made. Too many to name, you know who you are. I'm sure I'll see you elsewhere. Take care everyone. Happy gaming! -drag
  9. I await your lessons on how to juke pile.
  10. Nope. Those were legit suggestions. I can't help but wonder what would happen if i called your suggestions trolling.
  11. No and no. Keep tanks, make starting HP 10k. Up the cost of heals to 40.
  12. Get rid of all throwables, and all fireworks, except those that arise naturally in the game. Problem solved completely and forever.
  13. Bile is what removes the challenge, not the other way around. Similar to how fireworks remove some of the challenge. Throwables in general make a lot of tough situations much easier. Which is why you don't see them on competitive servers. Secondly, this is the only 10 v 10 server I'm aware of that doesn't increase tank HP. Bile/fire and 10 weapons aimed at you make tanks useless in most scenarios where there aren't hittables. This is the removal of something that should be challenging, not a challenge in and of itself.
  14. Another thing worth trying, I know you recently installed a bunch of add-on campaigns. Delete these and remove any steamshop items you might be subscribed to.
  15. something worth trying before you reinstall. go to Steam, right click on L4D2. Go to "Properties" In the "General" tab, go to "Set Launch Options..." and enter "-novid" Relaunch game and this will skip the opening video. This causes some people to crash.
  16. Had it always been that everyones progress counted, people would think it absurd to suddenly go from 10 survivors counting to 4.
  17. pfft, having mains doesn't add strategy. it just gives people an excuse to book it when things get rough. why should 1 player count more than another?
  18. Remix/mashups. Go by the name 'graycat.' Haven't done any in a while though. Prototype/Code web stuff.
  19. I'd say infected skills are slightly more important than survivor skills. There are some pretty good players on surv who are meh on infected, and don't have much of an impact on the game.
