  1. Check out the online support for the company that made your router. Odds are they'll have forums where you can see if anyone's had the same problem with your exact hardware. I've spent the last 2 months fighting my router after I upgraded the firmware, it was working great I just had the brilliant Idea to upgrade when I didn't need it. I'm not back at my orig version. But that's a whole different story
  2. Yup mines an hour behind. Bah I'll worry about it later
  3. Yeah, I'm not sure I agree with their decision, but then I don't know all the facts or even as much as they did. I did catch a bit of news on this yesterday and it sounded like the prosecution was trying to use a TECHINICALITY to get him convicted. Pretty sad when people use crap like that as an excuse to go after someone they have a diff opinion. They didn't argue that the killing was wrong, but rather that he "Violated rules of Engagement" by firing on an unarmed man. How about we say what we really mean and believe instead of feeding out more BS? Anyways, that was the impression that I got after watching the news about it.
  4. You may want to check out Citibank. I have my mastercard through them and one feature they have that I really like, and use somewhat, is Virtual Account Numbers. You use them for online shopping or anything online. I've even paid a bill or 2 with them. Basically you download a program they have and when you want to pay for something over the internet you open it up and generate a Virtual Acct Number. This number can ONLY be used at that specific retailer once it's used the first time. So if on the rare chance that someone should manage to intercept my acct # and try to use it on EBAY or somewhere else when I'm buying a comp part on newegg. It immediately get's blocked. You can also set the acct numbers so they expire after just a month, so it limits your vulneralbility even more.

I saw it last night, they had me going until I saw the awp for 1/2 price. Pretty good though
  6. Man I can't wait to see the Vikings kick some Packer...
  7. I'll definately be around tomorrow for this. BTW Could someone send me a reminder IM via AIM if they dont' see me on the server? KBerge00 Much appreciated
  8. I've had both cordless phones for over 6 months before the problems appeared. The problems also started the DAY that I started trying new firmwares. So I know that the problem is the firmware versions, either that to the process of upgrading damaged the hardware (hopefully not this). I downloaded the original firmware from their website so I can flash that back onto the router. Fortunately they keep an archive of all released versions. I just wish their tech support would throw away the list of canned answers. Hopefully I'll have time to load the orig firmware on it tonight or tomorrow. Then we'll see. BTW, don't take as a knock against Netgear routers, this baby was awesome until I started playing with new firmware versions when I didn't need to. Guess I should've paid more attention to the old saying, huh Preacher
  9. I'll bet money that both your routers were set to have the same "host" IP for themselves to all the computers that connect into them. For example linksys and netgear routers are accessed by the IP 192.168.1.1 (I believe that's the default, I changed my as I"ll explain below). So if you change your settings you go to that IP. Both Linksys and Netgear (and I assume all others) have the ability to change this address, I used 192.168.0.1 for one of my routers. If you have them both set to diff they work just fine. I did this when I added a wireless to my home network. The non-wireless is connected to the DSL Modem, then the Wireless connects into this router. Each has a different "host" IP address. Until I did this I couldn't get the 2nd router to connect properly. I have DHCP enabled on both of them.
  10. Ha, Nice pics. Btw there's a topic for this in the Mayhem forums I think.
  11. Cranky, I think you got me a little confused on the "cash card?" Do you mean like a check card that you get from your bank that takes out of your checking acct? The card I have has like an 18% APR (annual Percentage Rate). So do you consider that an interest card? I guess I"m a bit confused BTW, DON"T GET a card if it has an ANNUAL FEE. THose are worthless, especially if it's for your first card.
  12. So I used to think that netgear routers were awesome, easy to setup, worked seemlessly and never gave me any trouble. Then I upgraded my firmware to the latest version. Talk about a horrible idea. I've had nothing but problems since I did so. I followed their directions to the letter. Not only this but I've had more than my share of troubleshooting knowledge and I"m almost 100% convinced that this is a firmware bug. Unforulately I've tried all the other firmware versions besides what I started with. All of them have different problems. The most frequent is that my connection resets about every 25 minutes. I tried their online tech support, next time I think I'll ask a 2 year old for advice, it'll be quicker. The first guy told me that I had to setup auto port triggering for everything that wanted to use the internet. INCLUDING my web browsers and instant messaging. I'm fairly certain he didn't even read all of my emailed. Not to mention that the reply from him had some characters that weren't in english...
  13. www.newegg.com is by far the bets place I've found any comp parts. Esp. vid cards. YOu can often find an OEM one with the CD's and everything for dirt cheap! Also you can view the specs on the cards to see exactly what they support. They will say right on them. Ususlaly 4x/8x is what they'll have. SOme are 1-8 I believe.
  14. N/p, THanks for the quick response! I hate to sound like a complainer
  15. Cranky Bullfrog, don't take this the wrong way, but I think you were told a load of .... I've never carried a balance on my card, yes I only have 1, for the past 5 and 1/2 years and my credit rating is excellent. I plan to be buying a car later this year too. Edit. Decided to change my wording slightly
  16. I've noticed a few times over the last oh... couple weeks, most recently last night. That when I wanted to play mayhem was full with no open slots and stayed that way for at least 8 minutes. I thought it would kick someone whenever the reserved slot was taken, so that it always kept one open. Just wondering if this has changed?
  17. Yeah I hear ya. He was the embodiment of this sport.
  18. The biggest mistake people make with credit cards is not paying them off each month. Credit card companies love you when you do this though because they make TONS of money of people. Most cards have ridiculus rates and every month that you don't pay the FULL BILL the amount of interest added to your balance goes up and you just end up losing money. Talking terms about credit, I recently got a credit report about myself and they listed the top 3 good things and 3 things that hurt my credit. ALong with that they listed all kinds of tips and other itneresting info. One of the major things they listed besides always paying off your balance every month was to never miss payments. Also charging your card up to the max balance all the time will kill your credit rating, so only charge it regularly to less than 1/4. I know that seems like a small amount but it makes a big diff in the long run. While using your card is how you build credit, using it constantly all the time isn't. The best advice I could give would be to only let yourself buy certain things with it, such as gas and food. Also don't apply for lots of cards, nor hold lots of cards. They have no way of knowing if you're just signing up to get those little deals stores offer or if you're desperate to get cards. That 10% discount may sound good, but going for all of them won't be.
  19. As normal mentioned it's very difficult to know the truth. It's very possible that the man was asking to have his suffering ended or that the soldier just killed him in cold blood. Unfortunatley a story in the news isn't very clear or objectionable. I could understand the man not wanting to suffer if there was nothing that could be done for him. I don't know if I could ever do what the soldier did, I doubt anyone would know unless they've been in that situation. It's something that you wish no one ever had to be in.
  20. I definately see your point about everyone being spread around. It seems that even now I don't see some of the guys I used to play with. But anyways, I voted for increasing Mayhem. I think that the server could be fun with more players on during peak times than the current max.
  21. Country all the way!!! Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, and all the newer style country
  22. Good to hear that she's back at the homestead!! My thoughts and prayers are always with your family!
  23. I could never understand why people go to such extents to do this kinda of crap. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should...
