  1. They are usually instructed to ask for cheese because it costs extra. Also people are more apt to buy when prompted. BUT - Yesterday I ordered a Double Swiss Butterburger with everything, a Single Swiss Butterburger with everything except for a tomato (for my gf), and a large fry. She repeated the order, and this is what I got: A double deluxe burger (same as swiss but with American Cheese), a single burger (no cheese, no mayo, just veggies), a large fry (impossible to screw up), and a soft drink (which she had charged me for). I was in a huge hurry to get to a Green Bay Packer game so I rushed out without looking at my order (not like I would have had time to change it anyway). Similar thing happened to me at Subway last month...I ordered a sandwich and a HS girl (who was quite obviously under the influence of drugs) would point to a veggie and ask me if I wanted it every time, then would ploddingly add each one. This was after I had already explained my original order. It took her about 10 minutes to complete the sub while there was a line of about 10 people behind me. Her co-workers apologized for her. I am really tired of bored-looking HS kids thinking that they are too good for these jobs and not caring whether they screw up or not. If anything, I hope that the managers are paying attention so their lack of motivation comes back to bite them in the butt when it comes to getting a job post-graduation. EDIT: At the same time, cut these people some slack. Getting angry at them isn't going to change their attitudes. I worked in the service industry as well, and people can sometimes be real jerks for no good reason.
  2. I just graduated and would love to work in a genetics/cell bio/microbiology lab somewhere...SOMEBODY PLEASE HIRE ME!!
  3. A good German weißbeer is typically served with a slice of lemon.

    WoW

My brother started playing WoW over a year ago, and I have hardly seen him since. It's all he does in his free time.
  5. Started in: Stevens Point, WI Then: Munich, Germany London, England Szeged, Hungary Now back in: Stevens Point, WI
  6. That's obviously a ZERO! Next question: What is the name of a candy bar containing a chewy nougat (in either strawberry, chocolate, or vanilla flavors) and covered in chocolate?
  7. This is true. I had this in Croatia on tap and I loved it. I am a big fan of Weißbier (wheat-beer). Paulaner and Erdinger are my favorites, served with a slice of lemon. Andechs Doppelbock is the world's tastiest dark beer, with several hundred calories per serving and an 8 percent alcohol content. New Glarus was mentioned and they have some good beers as well; Spotted Cow being the tastiest. Leinenkugel's Red is good, and so is Point Amber (woo hometown brewery). Guiness is great, but remember only to drink it draft, as it tastes terrible out of a can or bottle. A british company named Young's makes some pretty good ales, including an ale called "Christmas Pudding" (has a fruity taste to it). For something really exotic, try a Rasberry Lambic; which is a belgian specialty beer that combines the taste of rasberry and a lighter flavored beer (but with all the alcohol content of a normal beer). Xterminator, if you like eastern european imports, consider these as well: Arany Aszok - Hungary Dreher - Hungary (wait, no, this beer is terrible) Jelen - Serbia MB - Serbia
  8. You don't actually inhale a cigar into your lungs...plus it's not like you are going to smoke a pack of cigars a day (although some people smoke a few a day, it a more casual thing). You also don't usually smoke more than a clove or two. Like alcohol, or trans-fats, you can limit the damage by limiting your intake. So really, to say that smoking cloves or cigars is just as bad as cigarettes isn't exactly correct, because of the amount of each people acutally smoke.

    Wii.

This price is waaaay too low compared to the other next-gen systems, and it looks like the best one...expect shortages
  10. I sometimes smoke when I drink. But not cigarettes...they just kill my fragile lungs. I prefer some mint or apple tobbacco from a hookah, or a nice cuban or dominican cigar if they are availible. Clove cigarettes are nice too. The reason why I smoke is because it is a good picker-upper after a long night of drinking, and keeps me awake to dance, dance, dance.
  11. Try a "Blind Russian" sometime. Instead of adding milk to a white russian, add Bailey's. Mmmmm. Also Gin and Ginger ale is great. Can anyone tell me how to make a killer bloody mary??
  12. Checking back into this topic after 2 years...my tastes have changed a bit. Still enjoy the occasional beer, but I have found some new great things to drink! Ron Mulata or Havana Club white rums (not availible in the U.S. because of embargo) with Coke (Afri-Cola works the best, but you can only get it in Germany...has more caffine than Red Bull and is less sweet than Coke, it's the best for mixing cola drinks) and a twist of lime are great...the so-called "Cuba Libre". Classic, awesome drink. Bacardi and Captain Morgan are pretty terrible compared to most Cuban\Jamacian\Carribean rums. Jager Bombs are great, just remember to keep the Jager in the freezer because it is smoother when cold (and it won't freeze because of the high alcohol content). The hungarian Red-Bull knockoff "Bomba" tastes exactly the same and is half of the price, yay! Gin and Tonics, with a lemon or lime twist are good. Ouzo and Jack Daniel's are my favorite sippin' drinks. And here's one to impress the ladies: "Carrot Cake" - Equal parts Goldschlager, Bailey's, and Buttercup liquor. Tastes just like carrot cake! Hooray!
  13. Mmmm, packers had a great draft this year...hopefully some of the rookies will step up and maybe Charles Woodson will be good. Packers should have one of the better defenses in the leage in the next couple of years. Unfortunately, they have a terrible offensive line and only one good reciever (Donald Driver). Also, I will be back in the United States by the end of this month...I can't wait to get on my own computer and play some CS again.
  14. Yeah I get to rent most of my texts, and usually end up spending less than $100 per semester on books, when I know the students in Madison (hah, no text rental there!) are spending about five times that for the same major (Biology). I also attend a state campus in Wisconsin.
  15. I use facebook...college student's version of myspace (must be logged in to see, must have an .edu account or university account to be able to register). http://uwsp.facebook.com/profile.php?id=185003788
  16. UP 17-0 IN THE SECOND QUARTER! w00t!!! GO BADGERS! ON WISCONSIN!
  17. Delerious after a 14-hour schoolday, with minus 20 degree temps, made a left turn across 2 lanes of traffic when 2 gigantic SUVs were also trying to make a left turn in the opposite lane, blocking my view and waving me on. Got t-boned by a 16 year old who was speeding, not posting about fault here though (legal reasons). Neither of us was injured, her car was totaled, and I continued to drive my white 1994 Dodge Caravan with it's side smashed in until it fell apart a year and a half later. I have hardly driven since, yay for bicycles and public transit!
  18. I'm not completely sure, but I think it has something to do with the movie I Heart Huckabees.
  19. I still think it beats CS.... (lurks back into the shadows) also...london is awesome
  20. Thx guys...I tried to join a few minutes later but it said my map differed from the servers...I thought I still might be banned, but I joined later.
  21. Kicked and banned from scopeless at around 4:30 pm central time today. I am pretty sure it was an accident, because I know all the rules yadda yadda yadda...but this is my last day in the United States for the next 9.5 months and I really want to play some CS:( Steam ID "00b3rN00b ist verliebt" STEAM_0:0:5276258
  22. Ich hab' das nicht bemerkt.
  23. Dude, if you are ever in Wisconsin....e-mail me or something. I am sure something can be arranged:) Conversely, if I am ever in North Dakotoa (or wherever you reside now), I will drop you an e-mail. I have been trying to get a bit of CS in before I leave too...so check out the servers this week.
  24. Me (on the left) and my friend Jamie (on the right), just after we finished leading a group of 18 German students around the Stevens Point area and it's campus for 3 weeks. Also, for a more interesting picture of me, look at my profile...
  25. There is some sort of corn festival tonight in the square. But I am not going because I have laryngitis and have lost my voice...
