Came across this on Reddit - What is, in your opinon, the most powerful music you have ever listened to? I've never thought of music as being powerful, but having sampled a number of songs on the thread above, I think I understand what they mean. Personally, theme songs from movies (songs from The Last Samurai, Gladiator, or maybe just Hans Zimmer come to mind) would probably be my picks for powerful music. Anyway, I enjoyed the songs mentioned in the thread (discovered new ones from genres I don't normally listen to), and thought you might too Edit: it's also very interesting to see listen to what people consider powerful. The songs run the gamut from classical to rock to oldies, but all very good

Edit - I'll just leave a link to my page here and update this post whenever I put something new up, like... http://soundcloud.com/the_lindak/pump I just noticed (because I'm slowmo) that with the whole forum upgrade that the GC Studios got amalgamated into ChitChat (or I'm just bad at finding stuffs), and you can't easily navigate to all my old postings (how are you all surviving?). Apparently I'm not allowed to post this many media files...Flitter, you dream ruining monster! <3 You can just navigate to my soundcloud page if you want to punish yourself further...

ESPN has a preview of six tracks. Why I do not know. What I do know is that the band sounds like they are old, sober, they just finished listening to Living Colour (seriously) and have totally eliminated from memory what their first six albums were in both sound and attitude. You'd rather listen to Metallica's St. Anger after you hear these tracks.

This thread is influenced by SJ's Rage against the Machine post. For Me: 1. Nofx at the Polish Falcon on Lake Michigan Ave in GR (Grand Rapids Mi.) sometime in the summer of '93 (I think). Very, very small show maybe under 100 ppl and I got to drink beer with fat Mike. 2. Lolapalooza's 1,2,3. Janes Addiction, Ministry, NIN, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Henry Rollins. Yeah those were the day's. Friggin awesome!!! 3. Woodstock '94.. Live then Jame's on the opening night, and throw in Jackel for the ending night gig, doesn't get much better than that. The rest of the weekend kind of sucked do to the rain and walking in poo, but I enjoyed the Cranberries and many, many other bands (I can elaborate later if asked), Hmm CCR ect.. 4. Any Ministry show at the Orbit Room in GR. Went to three and they all rocked.. 5. Janes Addiction at the State Fair grounds (somewhere in Detroit) sometime in the late 90's (I'm thinking '96 but don't know for sure). 6. System of a Down GR Van Andel Sept of '05, last show I've been to and it was over the top.. 7. Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden at the Breslin sometime in the mid 90's. 8. Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins at K-Wings stadium (one month before Kurt Cobain decided to take a shot gun to the face). Kzoo. edit: needed to add a couple more..

Anyone like Weezer? I saw them in Indiana Friday night front row and met the guitar player Brian Bell after the show! Pretty cool! He was very nice.. We got the set list as well and had Brian autograph it.. The second pic is my wife, she wanted to meet Rivers.. Pics

Anyone here like Psytrance? Examples would be Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, GMS, and Sphongle... I got it into a lot during my first year at college and was wondering if anyone else really like it.

Electro...poorly mixed (sorry) with headphones. Boiler, don't listen, I know how you feel about mashups and there's a remix in there that might spoil memories for you...or not I don't know, you'll never read this. http://www.zshare.net/audio/55128968a1504967/

[utube]KDaypCW9qaI[/utube] Im in the Black Suit with the Alto Saxophone, It's certainly not my best.... but it is all that I have on tape. In the second Solo I do squeak, but that was a very high note and I had only gotten that saxophone that week (Brand New) We did this at a craft fair, we had played earlier with the whole jazz band and then pulled this group together with who was left. I've been playing the Alto for going on 7 years now, but Improv is still relatively new to me.

New album can be heard on Myspace before being released this weekend. Anyone listen to it yet? My opinion is that it is ok but not great. If Axl's voice is half of the band, Slash's guitar style was the other half and it is lacking that other half. It also comes off as an attempt to sound more modern and lacks the edginess and rockiness that is the original GnR. I am kind of disappointed. http://www.myspace.com/gunsnroses
