[Mmmm]Homer December 23, 2002 Share [Mmmm]Homer Member December 23, 2002 Yes, my children, I am an ordained minister as of today. No, really. Universal Life Church edit: Fatty, you can move this to Mmmministries if you feel it's appropriate but I thought to put it here for starters. NOFX December 24, 2002 Share NOFX Member December 24, 2002 lol doesnt disgust me, it just shows you what kind of system religion has turned into....I know some people arent like that, but when people use advertisement as and advantage to sucker people with a below average intelligence into thinking they are really a minister, it really shows how corrupt we are.. Guest boomstick December 24, 2002 Share Guest boomstick Guests December 24, 2002 Have you ever thought of people who do not believe in the mainstream Gods / Goddesses? These people should not be denied the ability to use the same 'legal advantages’ as a Christian minister simply because they do not have a widely recognized faith. I do not disagree that this could be misused, mistreated, and misunderstood, but that is just human nature. I do not find this at all "disgusting", "corrupt", or an "advantage to sucker people with a below average intelligence ". I would like to think as an intelligent community we can see this as an opportunity for all faiths to share the same rights, and to not concern ourselves with the corrupt uses of this site. Boom / Alias Oh yeah, Happy Holidays!!

Hendryx December 24, 2002 Share Hendryx Member December 24, 2002 Don't you guys get it? It's not supposed to 'poke fun' at religion. Its showing how you are free to believe anything you want. Ok, sure, you obviously can't become a minister of some world-renowned religion...but you can teach others your own version of it. Or, come up with a belief system of your own (which most everyone does - from what I've heard, most people take religion as a shell or base and build their own beliefs upon it). There's no law (yet) that says we can't teach people whatever we want.
Guest UberNewb December 24, 2002 Share Guest UberNewb Guests December 24, 2002 I agree with Hendy. I was afraid to say something cause I always get beat up on for things I believe that other people disagree with. This is something that these people believe in. They never say anything negative about anyone's religion, and they're willing to embrace people of all religions, despite their differences. And some of you guys are disgusted by this? Thats just wrong. Thats why I'm not overly religious...
