I have noticed that long after the #1 and #3 servers are nearly empty the scopeless one is still full. I also realize this reflect pub players wants more than gc members want(who are paying), but I wondered if anything was in the works to alleviate the congestion on the scopeless server. Has anyone thought of making the #3 scopeless, or maybe blocking AS and AWP on it?

Is there any way to join GC for less than a year? I am not sure i will be playing CSS enough to warrant a membership a year from now. as a suggestion I was thinking an up front membership fee of $10 and $5 monthly would be pretty profitable for GC. I understand the current policy is yearly to control who has the GC tag and reduces the amount that the servers have to be messed with to change who has/doesn't have a reserve, but I just wondered is anything could be worked out on a more short term basis.

I would also buy a short term membership if there was ever a possibilty since I am only going to be playing about 6 more months... i would love to support you guys any way possible and i am thinking about it, but since the membership is for a whole year, it doesn't work out to well for someone like me.

I understand what you guys are saying about not sure how much you'll play and if the $50 is worth it. I played on GC servers for about a year and 1/2 before deciding to pay the yearly membership. Then 6 months later I decided I want to consider becoming an admin.

I'd never go back now though that I've had the benefits of being a member. It's very nice not having to ever wait to get into the server you want. As Clueless mentioned you get more than just that though. You're a member of GC and you have access to the GC forums which not everyone has access to. You can also become a bigger member of the community and can find out about GC news before others.

Besides, all things considered $50 a year isn't that bad. It comes out to less than $5.00 a month really.

so why not join #1 or #3 and help build a game back up?

otherwise, consider 50 bucks over six months is only like 8 bucks each month?! i think gc is worth that. hurry, operators are standing by.

I will gladly sell you guys/gals 6 month memberships for $50 if it's the length of the membership that is bothering you. :D

In a word, monthly memeberships create too much e-paperwork.

Different time zone, maybe?

you goof. <slaps voodoo with a wet sunday newspaper>

Sure, that graph is in CST...BUT, I'm talking about the fact that the graphs don't show #2 full and the other 2 empty....not only last night, but in the rest of the graphs.

2 has its streaks....i've seen her alive late, like when some admins work it over into the night...but on a general basis, the data just doesn't show what he's talking about.

Dunno, but any way you cut it, a GC reserve is the way to solve all of the world's problems! Ok, maybe that's overboard.

btw, what Aimbot is saying doesn't make sense when you look at:

To address all the replies to my post:

1.All the servers are prety much full

Yes all the GC servers are pretty full all the time, but the scopeless is undoubtedly the busiest. If you took those graphs and adjusted the scales you would see the #1 and #3 servers sit around 23 or 24 alot and the #2 around 25 or 26. Waiting for one person to leave is alot different than waiting for three to leave and hope a gc member doesn't join in the mean time. A huge difference for someone without a reserve, and if you were to ask people on the scopeless server I think alot of them would say they would play there more if it wasn't full. What I said is true enough that I can't just click on the server to join it because I will always be redirected to #3 and get in it.

2. Why not join #1 or #3 and build the game back up?

None of the server ever need the game "built back up", atleast not when I am awake. The reason I don't play in the #1 or #3 is I like the no scopes server b/c it is no scope. Having a server without porn sprays and obtuse cussing is nice, but they really don't bother me that much. I like the faster pace and guttier firefights of no scope gameplay. The admins are cool too.

3. $50 isn't that much

True. But for that much I could be an admin on some servers.

4. "EXTRA BENEFITS"

I already have multiple e-mail, FTP and I am not really such a big fan of forums. After this thread dies I probably wont be back to the website, except maybe to check my stats. I just wanna play CS on a no hassle fast paced(no scope) server.

I hope I am not making anyone angry with what I am saying. The GC servers are the best I have run into for any game, and I realize it would be a pain to do monthly instead of yearly. When I consider the amount I play and relate it to the cost I see that $50 is a pretty good deal, but that logic doesn't make it any easier somehow.

Correction: #1 is the busiest server. Not that it makes any difference to anyone, but I'm just trying to help you be accurate. Even when looking at it at the top graphs, it's obvious. Basically, they all get full and stay full.

To complete my point about the "busiest" server, look at the yearly graphs all the way at the bottom. Notice that #1 is the only server that has enough traffic to warrent averages over 16 players during any slice of that yearly graph. The others still have a graph of 0-16 players. Who knows, maybe you were actually looking at the yearly graphs and reading them wrong.

It really makes no difference, but what you're saying is just inaccurate (about the traffic).

3. $50 isn't that much

True. But for that much I could be an admin on some servers.

I'm sure there are servers out there that you could become an admin on for free, let alone paying for it. There are also a gazillion servers out there that you couldn't pay me $50 / month to play on. :D

In the end, we're not out to make people "give in" to anything. The value is in the eye of the beholder. Some recognize the value, others don't. It's all good. Our servers wouldn't be what they are without the pubmasters that we have.

BTW:

The best case scenario that I can think of is that the servers are packed with 20-24 GC members. Can you imagine how much fun it will be when there's no more need to admin while playing? Consider Map Night on #2....talk about the use of a reserve when really wanting to be in a server at a specific time.

Eventually I'd love to see enough GC where we could have a private server for those that want to play 6 v 6 regularly, and it would be used on a daily basis....sorta like an "inner chamber" if you will....where there's no need for admin mods cause it's a members only.

The key is the balance between enough admins in the public arena to continue what we have going with the number of players / admins who have a desire to find that small game.

We could start organizing nightly games like this even tonight. We already have a GC private server.

I'll just rename it from match server to something that has a little more ring.

We could also consider making the password for the GC private server known to our community....thus increasing the chances of getting a game going. Something to discuss.
