Strange that you can get zero back from it yet it sends through. Maybe it's just a setting there, because you have no packetloss at the final destination....sorta like how my router denies requests. Not sure.

Strange tho.

Just got off Recrud. My shot registration went down the

toilet, also people were picking me off long after I was

behind cover. I know this happens occasionally, but this was

really bad, like a full second. Are we sure these servers are

what we really want?

100% loss from some hop is no big deal, it just means that that particular router is not sending off ICMP messages for the TTL expiration.

This from a few minutes ago on stripped Recrud, shortly after a restart/crash or something (whatever shut it down happened before I got on):

decplmill0006pd9.th.jpg

This lasted for the better part of a minute.

welp, that's one.

if it's isolated....i didn't have the sv_downloadurl defined....there were several ?'s connected, but perhaps couldn't d/l the map. It's a stretch, but I defined the url manually and then they finished their connect.

Who knows.

Every ping spike that we've documented hasn't shown up in a trace.

If you can show a ping spike in hlsw, then we need a trace to go with it, otherwise it's useless. The pictures in game are assuming that traces outside of the game are normal. However, you won't have your graph messed like that w/o a route issue, or proof in a tracert that it's the last hop that is the issue.

Just an fyi. I'm currently playing on Recrud and it seems a bit choppy today.

I was running pingplotter before jumping on and I noticed I was getting upto 33% packet loss at times on the last couple of chicago hops.

during server wide lag on recrud i had a jump on my traceroute on an SBC -> SAVIS hop

ex1-p3-0.eqsjca.sbcglobal.net [151.164.41.101]

bpr2-ge-6-0-0.SanJoseEquinix.savvis.net [151.164.89.42]

nothing closer to the gameserver though. (those are hops 7-8 out of 17)

again--used startlag stoplag via console chat. the trace showed nothing, though there was momentary 10% packetloss on #14

Theres something up with both mayhem and rec at the same time rt now ( at time of post) . I noticed my ping was pretty high to both, but I just assumed it was me. Then after a rcon-status, it showed most everyone in the server also had a very high ping as well. Oddly, my ping to the new west seems unusually low at the same time ( cool)

couple mins later, checked again, booted two potty mouths, and pings look back to normal except for 2 people ( prolly them). xtLux is in server now and is pinging normally he says.

again between 10:50pm and 4:00am CDT starting on 7/27

I dunno would they start early lets hope so.... we had like a couple lag spikes that've noticed... once i saw recrude time out for a little bit but never crashed... I was watching on HLSW. One spike acted funny... it was like it was going back down then it jumped up again lasted around 3 rounds.

i got screenies but i figure you'd be bored of seeing them by now >_<
