J. Dunlavy August 7, 2006 Share J. Dunlavy Member August 7, 2006 I find this to be GREAT news... although, I wish Creative and/or Matrox would get serious about the graphics market.
anonymo August 8, 2006 Share anonymo Member August 8, 2006 I find this to be GREAT news... although, I wish Creative and/or Matrox would get serious about the graphics market. Please...someone stop the dun dun... Oh and I'm skeptical about AMD buying out ATI...that's the first I've heard of it and I know the big wigs at ATI said that they didn't want to sell out but merge so this article confuses me...just have to wait for official press release... wayfarer August 8, 2006 Share wayfarer Member August 8, 2006 If I'm not mistaken, this was the plan from the begginning. I remember reading in one of the articles when this all took place that the fianl company would be named AMD. This was a takeover right from the start. It was never a "merger" the headlines were "AMD buys ATI"
shadow August 8, 2006 Share shadow Member August 8, 2006 I think it's a great thing too. AMD makes great products so I think the new cards will probably be top shelf.

Tek-Almighty August 9, 2006 Share Tek-Almighty Member August 9, 2006 Story also reported by Digg.com today as probably false...ATI name will be kept...?
Cujo August 9, 2006 Share Cujo Member August 9, 2006 it doesn't make sense for them to get rid of the name. if for no other reason then you can't have the same colour as a competing company. green vs. red and green vs blue works. green vs green sounds like you're fighting yourself. the only thing that would be better is if amd changed their colours to red.
