HWarrior September 9, 2006 Share HWarrior Member September 9, 2006 If ya can wait a week, the x1900xt 256 will be out on 14th or so at about $280. Check out Tom's Hardware article on x1950xtx, x1950 crossfire, & x1900xt 256. x1900xt 256 is a nice value. I do like that cooler on the HIS (similar to x1950xtx's). VooDooPC September 9, 2006 Author Share VooDooPC Member September 9, 2006 (edited) i'd go with the x1900gt. ok, what are the monitor choices now? Any monitor in the 250 range I suppose. Edit: Questions: What's the 500:1 or 700:1 mean? What is CD/M2? And is this one any good? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16824254011 I haven't bought a monitor since like, 1999. Vovik September 9, 2006 Share Vovik Member September 9, 2006 I got myself a 21" ViewSonic CRT last month. Don't ask me how much I paid for it. It's dope.
dragonfly September 9, 2006 Share dragonfly Member September 9, 2006 (edited) Contrast ratio is the difference from white to the darkest black the monitor can show, or something like that. Higher contrast ratio = darker blacks i do believe. CD/m2: This is the brightness (i think), kinda like lumins on a projector. Please someone correct me if i'm wrong. The m2 is based on the metric system , m standing for meter (or metre if you're canadian like me eh) Edited September 9, 2006 by DarkArchon
