mookie November 3, 2006 Share mookie GC Alumni November 3, 2006 Is the drive partitioned? If not you'll want to use parted or fdisk on it.

stutters November 3, 2006 Share stutters GC Alumni November 3, 2006 when the blue screen installer first loads, it tells you to press f6 or f8 or fsomething if you need to install a raid controller. you might need to. try that, it will automatically do the rest from there. Yup. If its already formatted, just assign it a drive letter and you're good to go. If its a new drive you'll want to format it to ntfs.

Cujo November 3, 2006 Share Cujo Member November 3, 2006 i'm not really sure why i thought this was during the install. lol i can see why you would have assumed that. he didn't mention it was so i just assumed it was a secondary drive being plugged in. though really he should be using the newer, faster drive as a primary.
