Xterminator November 17, 2006 Share Xterminator Member November 17, 2006 my friend sent me this the other day. Supposedly the student was just leaving the building when the cops asked for some ID. He didn't have it on him so they tazered him. If that happened to me or a friend....i would not be able to keep my cool, i would have most likely charged after those cops with a blunt object. this is an unbelievable abuse of authority. farmerisme November 18, 2006 Share farmerisme Member November 18, 2006 I think the truth is probably in between that theory and the cops theory that the guy deserved it completely.

Kruten November 18, 2006 Share Kruten Member November 18, 2006 It's stupid since he was leaving the place. A lot of this is going to be said to be based on racism since he wasn't some white kid.
Tek-Almighty November 23, 2006 Share Tek-Almighty Member November 23, 2006 I grew up with cops, I have cops in my family, I have 6 buddies that are detectives now and have been on the force for 15+ years. Their opinions on this vary, but its pretty clear that this is a case of excessive force. "Nobody gets tasered 5 times..." Straight from the horses mouth. Not only that, but nobody gets tasered for not showing ID either, so unless he tried to grab the officer or the officer tried to escort him (walk him) and he wouldn't...well that is abuse as well... My two cents and my friends two cents.
Fatty November 23, 2006 Share Fatty GC Founder November 23, 2006 Dude, that guy on Amazing Videos got tasered more than 5 times...one of my favorite ones.....kept getting up...kept going down...."nooooo" he would say, but then start getting back up. Some drunk driver....anyone see this? --- back to topic Why didn't he stand up? How many times does someone have to say "stand up" before it's considered resisting arrest? Xter, you'd probably make more money in your lawsuit if you didn't charge with a rock......fyi Was he tasered by the Asian guy? Now THAT is the land of the free. All races have equal opportunity to be tasered by other races.

stutters November 23, 2006 Share stutters GC Alumni November 23, 2006 dude, you can't resist a direct order from an officer and call foul. the kid got what he deserved. and it's incredibly funny how quickly you can go from being a tough guy screaming "here's your patriot act" to crying like a little baby. ...and fatty, people in california will demonstrate if their starbucks isn't served at the right temperature. give em any excuse. Yah, if you get belligerent with a cop you are a fool. That said, just because you are being a fool doesn't mean that you need to be dropped. . . . anyway. . . . This particular peace officer appears to have had some violence issues in the past. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/11/19/10734/370 Getting tasered for not carrying your papers on you in a publicly funded building seems a bit, well, Orwellian. All this said, I have a general distrust for imposed authority anyway. i.e. If GC ran the only CS servers in the world, I'd have a huge problem with the server rules. However, since I can voluntarily choose to play under the rules I really like them.

"after an independent administrative hearing, officials overturned the dismissal, suspending him for 90 days." "In October 2003, Duren shot and wounded a homeless man he encountered in Kerckhoff Hall. Duren chased the man into a bathroom, where they struggled and he fired two shots." i've met some pretty volatile homeless people in my day. if they "struggled" with me, i could rationalize using force. same with a drunk frat kid (first story).
