Fairweather April 20, 2007 Share Fairweather Member April 20, 2007 lately i'v been having major choke issues while playing, everytime i get into a gunfight my choke skyrockets from 4 to 50 and its making it really hard to play whenever i adjust my rates it seems to drop my fps from 20 to like 5 which also makes it hard to play.. maybe i'm just not setting my rates properly or something or maybe its my poopy computor but any tips would be apreciated

Demonic Plague April 20, 2007 Share Demonic Plague Member April 20, 2007 i also don't get a very high fps, usually between 20-30 when in a serious gunfight, around 50-60 when with just a few I use cl_cmdrate 35 to 40 cl_updaterate 35 to 40 rate 25000 with those settings i don't get much choke, just a poor fps (the lesser of the two evils)
Fatty April 21, 2007 Share Fatty GC Founder April 21, 2007 I didn't know rates were directly associated with fps...

TheGeek May 1, 2007 Share TheGeek Member May 1, 2007 All of my rates are set to 100. I get 5-10 choke normal, and 40+ when a flash goes off? Kinda odd. Connection could be to blame, I often get lost packets because of my crappy isp, but knowing now that a lot of other people are getting it too? odd. Fairweather May 1, 2007 Author Share Fairweather Member May 1, 2007 i actually lowered my rates to cmd 60 and update 40 and that seems to be working really well, everything runs alot smoother now and the choke is under control
