mookie February 6, 2008 Share mookie GC Alumni February 6, 2008 I was not very happy when a case arrived with power button leads severed. The case is well-built though.
ZeroDamage February 7, 2008 Share ZeroDamage Member February 7, 2008 That particular model is a bad model. I've had Ultra PSU's that were great and solid. But yeah, better to stick with Antec or Enermax or OCZ.
[LaW]Maverick February 7, 2008 Share [LaW]Maverick Member February 7, 2008 I have an Antec, and I'm quite happy with it. Also, Thermaltake and Coolermaster seem to be making some pretty freakin' good PSU's
bushwack February 7, 2008 Share bushwack Member February 7, 2008 I have a Ultra 400w in the kids comp I picked up for like $20 off of Frys about 3 years ago. Works fine but it only pushes a XP 3000+ and a 6600GT. But there is no way I would put a Ultra PS in my comp. I'm running Antec.
dwEEziL February 7, 2008 Share dwEEziL Member February 7, 2008 I've always been leary of modular PSU's. They idea is nice, I just think it's too easy for the cables to become loose. My last PSU I bought is a PC Power & Cooling Silencer and I love it.

Preacher February 8, 2008 Share Preacher Member February 8, 2008 (edited) I have an Ultra X@c Connect 550w PS and it has performed flawlessly for two years, prior to that my Ultra X-Connect 500 Watt PS was just as pleasing. I'm really pretty surprised that the review was so horrible since their customer service and lifetime warranty is so nice. They give a lifetime warranty for every product as long as you register it online. I have also heard bad stuff about that particular model but this one is considered a very good PS: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...&CatId=2533 Not sure why the pro series is so much better since it's only a few dollars more but it has high ratings everywhere I have seen it tested. Also it's on the list of SLI recommended Power supplies that are linked to by the site there bashing Ultra. http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone_build_psu.html Edited February 9, 2008 by Preacher
