JordanRinke December 27, 2008 Share JordanRinke Member December 27, 2008 Just looking at gcftw.com and I don't see any mention of the actual server address anywhere. I had to go to the stats page to get the IP for the server. Am I simply over looking it or is it not there (it should be?)
VooDooPC December 27, 2008 Share VooDooPC Member December 27, 2008 I actually don't see it anywhere either. I had to look at a post in the CS forum. 216.52.148.80:27015 retro.gcftw.com:27015 I think that's the current IP. http://www.gamrs.co/forums/in...showtopic=37759

So, does the fact that two people are consoled by the fact that they found the server at two different IP's bother anyone else?
VooDooPC December 30, 2008 Share VooDooPC Member December 30, 2008 Mine was from a post earlier this month, probably the old server.
Laz.e.rus December 30, 2008 Share Laz.e.rus Member December 30, 2008 Really? Wow, my rig shows it as one at Dec 27 2008, 01:00 PM and one at Dec 27 2008, 06:09 PM. Scurry stuff.
VooDooPC December 30, 2008 Share VooDooPC Member December 30, 2008 The post I created here was new, but the post I got the server information was from around the 7th. I think we might have gotten a new server since the 7th.
stutters December 30, 2008 Share stutters GC Alumni December 30, 2008 it's all about the details. he asked for the sever address to gcftw.com. the only thing we have on "gcftw.com" is the webserver. FK was literally answering that question in his typical form of hysterical humor. so, if you ask yourself, "why would he want the ip address to the webserver," you might arrive at the conclusion that he meant to ask "what is the css server address for gcftw?" voodoo nailed that one. in conclusion: webserver - gcftw.com gamerserver (css) - retro.gcftw.com:27015
JordanRinke December 30, 2008 Author Share JordanRinke Member December 30, 2008 Right, I got all that figured out already. I used the stats page to get the game server address. My main concern here is why is it not on the main web page? I would expect big bold letters telling me where I can connect to go get fragged with the GC crew. JordanRinke January 2, 2009 Author Share JordanRinke Member January 2, 2009 Right, but it should say that on the main page?

VooDooPC January 3, 2009 Share VooDooPC Member January 3, 2009 I've thought about this before, but I can't imagine that many people come to the site before they come to the server.
stutters January 3, 2009 Share stutters GC Alumni January 3, 2009 I've thought about this before, but I can't imagine that many people come to the site before they come to the server.winner. only 16% of traffic is from search engine referrals, and of that, the top 5 terms are some variation of gamers+coalition+.com. sidenote: i guess the whole gcftw thing never took off. it's responsible for less than 1% of search traffic. surprisingly, the phrase "fast food, the internet, spectator sports, quick religion, and consumerism. we are medicated to keep our minds glazed and distracted from the side-effects of progress" has sent more traffic. no, seriously. thanks tek-almighty. JordanRinke January 3, 2009 Author Share JordanRinke Member January 3, 2009 Well being that the site is a single temp page and I doubt it has an SEO... I could see search engines not giving much traffic. gcftw.com is easier when telling friends about it though.
stutters January 3, 2009 Share stutters GC Alumni January 3, 2009 yeah, we didn't buy the SEO starter kit. ok, seriously to address your concern, glance at this http://is.gd/etXa or use the long url version: http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=c...o=US&cmpt=q okay okay, i give. i added the server address. ps, the page is organically SEO'd whitehat style, and SEOmoz'd for good measure. take a peek at the html source... and as a peace offering: [utube]1EE4IQnY0Wg&fmt=18[/utube]
