san` July 2, 2009 Share san` GC Alumni July 2, 2009 I think we should consider lowering the number of available slots to 16 with 2 slots set for reserves. Seems like when we get that many people in there the server just can't handle it well and this would help. Not only that, but it serves a good chance of drawing more members into gc. If they like playing in Retro and realize it's tougher to get in, maybe they'll pay for reserve. Can't hurt right? Might be worth a shot right? 8v8 seems like it'd be about perfect. Thought? Comments? Concerns? Other ideas?
Bewildered July 2, 2009 Share Bewildered Member July 2, 2009 I agree. Get twenty people on and you're just bumping into people, literally. Its very frustrating ... makes me more inclined to not follow my teammates ... or quit. 28 is rediculous
samurai nightling July 5, 2009 Share samurai nightling Member July 5, 2009 Well i havent played CS alot recently, but the few times ive been on, i notice the server fells "slower" or doesnt register as well. Might have to do with the number of player slots.

Jibbajabba July 6, 2009 Share Jibbajabba Member July 6, 2009 I would recommend 10 vs. 10, I think 8 vs. 8 is a little too small for the maximum. Besides, it generally hasn't been too much of a problem over the past few months imo. It is rare we even get that many people on at one time (except possibly Sat customs). As far as recruitment, I think most of the people who play on the server are GC members already. Haven't seen too many that consistently play on the server that are not (other than dooly maybe). san` October 31, 2009 Author Share san` GC Alumni October 31, 2009 Bump. It's been quite bad lately. Anytime it's over 20 people or so there's a good 10 seconds of lag at the end of each round.
stutters October 31, 2009 Share stutters GC Alumni October 31, 2009 i think that's a little exaggerated, but it does lag, and 12v12 seems high. anyone opposed to going 10v10?

mookie October 31, 2009 Share mookie GC Alumni October 31, 2009 Did that. Any chance the performance will improve by bringing the tickrate down from 100?
