tried Mass Effect 2. Bored the snot out of us. Looks like something Id play on my old Sega Genesis.

Apparently he was playing it on his netbook, because that doesn't sound like the same game I played.

 

Mass Effect 2 is the early game-of-the-year leader for me. I sunk sooooooooooo much time into it in January/February.

I just couldnt get into it. The galaxy map thing on my ship is cool looking, but the areas looked to similar, the walls all seem cookie-cutter, etc. And the weird 3rd person aiming. I guess if I played it on a console with pads I may appreciate it more, and the weird aiming would make more sense with pads I think.

I like third person shooters better on consoles than on the PC...unless I'm using a controller on the PC to play it. Don't know why, but TPSs don't really seem to mix well with me on the PC.

I'm the same way, First Person Shooters and Third Person Shooters aren't mechanically that different, but I much prefer to play Third Person Shooters with the controller. Splinter Cell, Mass Effect, GTA IV, I play them all on the PC with a controller.
