  1. Lots of GC action here, and well, umm, yeah. i got pwned again. Nice nade by Random. killed me again. Who needs enemies? I'm dangerous with a nade all by myself. But at least i got it right at least once. Had to die to do it though.
  2. We have one at work, and it's been fine. Had it since January, and the system is usually running 24/7. It's an office computer, no gaming, but we've never had any problems with it going out.
  3. Good Luck BigBones, and see ya in the servers.
  4. Sweet Brillow. Maybe you guys could do something about the perenially broken jumbotron thingy at Canal Park in Sunny Downtown Akron, OH.
  5. Shoot. And here I was thinking I might have found the secret to getting to the top of the ladder. Guess it's back to the old practice makes me a little better idea.
  6. That's why I can wear it either way, and still be happy.
  7. I actually have that Logitech set that Precher linked too. I like them, however, contrary to the pic they are NOT over the head (unless you have a REALLY small flat head), they fit around the back of your neck. The headphones are NOT noise canceling, but the mic is. They take a little getting used to given the fact that the tops of your ears stick out the slots. If you wear glasses, they will be unconfortable. Even if you don't, they will be uncomfortable for the first few times/days you wear them, then you get used to them. I like them, and use them for all my gaming. They work well with Teamspeak, as well as CS:S. Just thought I'd let ya know.
  8. Me for Ponchos. Have to work during the day, so no golf for me.
  9. I lookled at that, but decided that the extra 4 rendering pipelines prolly made up for the lower core speed. I really wanted her to get the evga 6600gt for $147 after instant, and mail-in rebates. But as long as it handles SWG and GW without crashing, she'll be happy.
  10. Well, after much checking around, and locating a gpu fan at www.1coolpc.com (vantec Iceberg 5, or something like that for $35) my wife decided that she didn't want to wait for that to arrive, and wait to see if I could get the old fan off and install the new one. So instead of about a $35 repair, she decided we should just get a new viddy card. Sapphire 9800pro from Newegg for $124. Guess my second GeForce 6600gt TDH Extreme card will have to wait a while longer. Thanks for the help though.
  11. Nice idea for the chipset fan, unfortunately, the northbridge just has a big heatsink, and no fan. But, yeah, the fan on the ciddy card does indeed look like the chipset fan om my comp. hmmmmmm Looking at the card in detail, it has a little (prolly) 2 prong plug connected to a port on the front of the card, and the fan is help on by 2 black posts that secure it through the pcb. I'll try to get a pic of what i'm talking about. edit: picture found.
  12. Ok, I've got a Saphire 9600xt card in my wife's comp. She's been getting errors while playing Guild Wars where it'll freeze up, and then dtd and give an error saying the vpu has been reset because it stopped responding. she can then go back into the game for a short time, before it crashes completely. SWG runs fine, operating temps have increased, due to the very hot humid weather we're having now. I took the side panel off, blew what dust that was still in the case out (had recently cleaned the filters, and cleaned out the dust) and re-booted. All the system fans came on, but the viddy card fan did not. I'm guessing that the fan should be on at all times, but don't know whether it cycles on and off with usage. Am I correct in thinking that the fan is dead? Is it easily replaceable? suggestions? Setup: Raidmax 420w psu/case, ASUS a7n8x-x, athlon 2800xp oc 2212Mhz, Saphire Radeon 9600xt, 2X512 Samsung pc3200 RAM
  13. I have never liked IE. I'd been using various versions of Netscape since it came out in the mid 90's. Then when FF was released, I grabbed the various versions of the beta, and now the full releases, and haven't even gone back to Netscape. All it took to convince my dad to switch was an article in the newspaper about the security flaws in IE, then when I showed what he could do with tabbed browsing, he was totally sold. Installed it as the default browser on all our work computers, and installed it on the computers in my family. Firefox Roxors.
  14. Looking forward to it!
  15. I understand that, I was the same way the first time i tried it. I pushed the proc too far in the bios, got a black screen at boot. I restarted the system, went back into the bios, decreased the fsb, and went from there. But that first black screen scared the crap outta me. No harm was done, and it's been humming along nicely with a hefty oc.
  16. So Clueless, have you decided to do anything about overclocking? Just curious.
  17. Unless the card can stick up way above the bracket, but the I'd think you'd have to worry about mounting hoes, case clearence, air flow, etc. Yeah, that viddy card in the pic didn't look standard to me...
  18. Mapnight was as always, a good time. The last map Apocolypse_2 was wacked, did finally find the 2 bombsites using the bomb as a detector. Both lvl's of the garage, stacked above each other. A is marked by a letter on a garage door, but b isn't marked at all. Also no matter where you are on the map when it detonates, you die. :/ Other than that little hiccup, it was great as usual.
