  1. Are both video cards showing up in your Device manager? If not what I'd do is make sure you have the install file for the drivers on your desktop. Go into your Device manager and uninstall the graphics card. If it asks you to reboot click no. Then go to add/remove programs and uninstall the drivers and reboot. This actually happened to a friend of mine when he bought another card so he could use sli. This helped him get it running.
  2. Wonder if Microsoft will be pressured by users to make a Windows XP version of DX-10. I doubt they will but, it would be nice if *cough* a third party(legal issues will probably apply) directX 10 driver was released for XP.
  3. Woo. Today is the day I start my 30 year prison sentence. Wish me luck. 8 hours of orientation for 5 days this week. I get my name badge and uniforms today. Then after this week I go for my Officer training which is 4 weeks. BAH thats going to suck because I have to travel to orient ohio (i live in mansfield) and stay there for the whole 4 weeks. That really sucks when you have a 6 month old baby. I hope I didn't scare anyone into thinking I was actually going to be a prisoner. lol. Alright, its time to get ready for w3rk. Cya in 5 weeks.
  4. I almost forgot about the HD loader, if you have a HDD in your PS2, you can load that on it without a chip thus eliminating the void warranty issue. Just make sure it works with discs from other territories. After checking, the new version is called HD Advance and can be dled free online. sweet, I don't keep up much on that stuff anyway. My wife wouldn't let me mod our Wii so i stopped reading up on them. LOL.
  5. Whatever Cujo, now you're not making sense. You stated that "blame the people who buy it." blame them for what if nothing wrong was done? Please Cujo, go back CAREFULLY and reread what you've typed if you'd like to make what you mean clear. Implying that something wrong was done is the same as stating it. You even go as far to say that selling it isn't wrong. Cujo:"i wouldn't blame the farmers." That, by definition is saying that they did nothing wrong. Also, could you share with us where it states in the dell eula where it says this? I read the entire thing and I failed to find it. Maybe you're reading a different eula than I am? Heres the one I read Dell terms of sales I don't know, but it seems to me that you're slightly more inept when it comes to debating something than I. blame (blm) tr.v. blamed, blam·ing, blames 1. To hold responsible. 2. To find fault with; censure. 3. To place responsibility for (something): blamed the crisis on poor planning. n. 1. The state of being responsible for a fault or error; culpability. 2. Censure; condemnation. Idiom: to blame 1. Deserving censure; at fault. 2. Being the cause or source of something: A freak storm was to blame for the power outage. thanks http://www.thefreedictionary.com/
  6. Well, I've kinda updated what I'd need out of my monitor. The current one I have has jacks in the back. Composite ones. I was thinking of actually buying a 26inch or bigger so I can hook an xbox360 and a PS3 to it. I had plans to hang it on the wall behind my desk.
  7. If you have any further problems, I would try swapping out power cables with your hard drives. Sometimes a cable can go bad, and then you'll get weird problems. Recently I formated and reinstalled XP 6 times in 2 weeks. After examining my cables while my PC was on, I noticed when I touched a cable the hard drive would click. So, I swapped it out with one of my fans to check to see if it actually was the cable. The fan would run, but if I touched the cable the fan would slow down almost to a stop. Later, I forgot about the "short" in my power cables, and hooked up the floppy drive I had. Well, the cable caught on fire and I had to clip off the power cable and use electrical tape to prevent shock. Now I have to get a new PSU so I don't risk burning my house down.
  8. I didn't see were you poked holes in mine... I was just keeping it simple, and you were forcing me to explain it further. Then jumping off topic when I used an simile to show what I was getting at. Next time I'll just simply say "It violates the EULA so its wrong, and anything that EVER violates the EULA is also wrong" And if you don't agree with that, maybe you should ask the people who wrote the EULA why its a violation of their EULA. 7. 9. You could always install a MOD chip. It will void your warranty though. But in the long run you can play both kinds of DVDs/games.
  10. Hey Cujo... what do you think microsoft would do if someone wrote a hack for windows, and they caught the guy? Would they blame the people who use the hack, or the guy who wrote it. W/e. I don't feel like arguing about your opinion anymore Cujo. The whole POINT of my post in this thread was selling currency is wrong. Regardless of WHO buys it. A cop wouldn't run out and shoot a 12 year old after he purchased illegal drugs, and let the dealer walk free. I never said those who BOUGHT it shouldn't be punished(online currency). Both sides are VERY wrong, but the one who sells it should be punished more than the person buying it. Seller-IP perm ban. Buyer-Account ban(aloud account repurchase) or simply all characters deleted. And DarkArchon... seriously? Think about it... how many people quit because of farmers vs farmers in the game. More people quit because of farmers than there are farmers. When I played lineage 2... there were ALWAYS people 1-35 and then they quit. That was it. The top level is 78 now I believe. So if... 6000 people quit because of 200 farmers, did they really make a profit? NCsoft didn't recognize that farmers were a problem until a year or so ago and they did a mass ban. If you don't agree with my opinions cujo, you don't have to. The way I look at it is, wrong is wrong. No matter how you twist it.
  11. what's wrong with that? What came first, drug users or drug dealers? I know everyone has their opinion. But its not someones fault if you're forced. And the WHOLE point I was making was that farmers FORCE players to quit, or to buy their currency. If I went by your logic, eventually when I broke it down... we would just blame everyone who ever played the game. Because its their fault it was popular. There are two ways to look at it, 1. People wouldn't buy it if it wasn't made available. 2. People wouldn't sell it if people wouldn't buy it. It really is a double edged sword. I personally look at it like this. Do you punish people who buy it who greatly out number those who sell it. Or those who sell it whose numbers are quite fewer. In my opinion the game I use to play lineage 2 died when farmers took over. There was way too many for a lot of players. Some of the biggest reasons why the game failed was because of the outrageous prices the company had set. I'm sure there are people who still play it, but someone would have to be buying currency just to keep up. My self, I was forced to buy and resell rare items. And that took up more time than actually leveling my character up. Who wants to spend 90% of game play bartering? Certain games it might not have as bad as an affect on. But when farmers start controlling a large portion of the game, I think its time for something to happen. The farmers need to boot. But, in the case of lineage 2, NCsoft cares more about their money than they do about their players.
  12. i wouldn't blame the farmers. i'd blame the people that buy them off ebay. they make the market. any game where this is possible though is just ridiculous. +100 -200
  13. i wouldn't blame the farmers. i'd blame the people that buy them off ebay. they make the market. any game where this is possible though is just ridiculous. Thats like blaming the people who buy drugs(illegal ones) instead of the drug dealer... Then we should blame the game Company for making items cost 100 times more than you have when you reach the required level to wear them. I played lineage 2 for 2 years. By the time I had enough cash to get my D grade top gear, I was almost ready for my C stuff. And that cost almost 4 times more than the D did. Also, you're pretty quick to jump the gun on people who actually buy online cash. Depending on the game you're playing farmers don't just sell online currency for these games. Farmers will steal, lie, and cheat you out of items. A lot of times the GMs won't do anything to help you. They'll just tell you that "theres no log" or "we don't reimburse items". Now, Farmers take up HUGH amounts of space in MMORPGs. In lineage 2, I could walk from a starter town, and see around... 30-50 Farmers all the way to say... Aden. Thats about a 4 or 5 hour walk without a strider. And if you enter a farmers area, you'll probably end up getting killed if the botter is watching. And some botter progs can set to auto kill you. Now, in lineage 2 there is a penalty for killing other players. Its called the Karma system. But since most botters use more than one account, this protects them. 1-4 players vs 1 guy with 10 bots. And a lot of botters will stick together. You might end up with 20-30 botters mad at you for messing with a farmer. Trust me, Farmers are the BIGGEST reason why I don't mess with MMOs anymore. The GMs won't do anything because farmers pay a lot more than I would to play. So don't blame the people who buy the stuff. Blame the Farmers and the game company for supporting them.
  14. Gold farming is were you have 2-10 accounts running at one time. You use a bot to control the accounts, and all they do is kill mobs and pick up the gold. They do this 24/7 and then sell the gold for $5/1000 gold. or whatever the current currency to gold maybe at the time. Its not "illegal" but blizzard doesn't like people who sell their "virtual items" on ebay. It violates their motd or something. People make thousands of dollars doing this a day. A guy came into walmart one day, and asked my friend Nate about a PC that would run wow. The guy said he had 16 PCs running in his home. He told my friend Nate that he made around 10,000 dollars a month just on WoW gold. Its too bad I didn't get the guys full name, i would have reported him to blizzard. Farmers are VERY bad for MMORPGS. They run prices up on ingame items.EDITI wouldn't mention gold farming on gamer site forums anywhere... In fact the thread should be locked and or delete imo to avoid blizzards wrath. They're pretty strict about stuff *cough* ipx/lan *cough*. lol. Who uses floppy drives?
  15. Well, since I'm going to upgrade my computer I figured I might as well spoof up my old one with a new monitor. Now, I plan on using the one I have now for the same PC because I'm giving it to my wife so keep that in mind. This is the one I currently have. Gateway LCD I'm thinking maybe clicky 1 this one, or Clicky2. What do you guys think. I don't HAVE to have a 26 inch, a 24 inch would do too, so I'm open for suggestions.
  16. Well, I just found this while googling. Nvidia Guess we'll get the card by christmas YAY benchmarks! The last comment gave me chills. UT3 full cranked and smooth as a babys butt... man... awesome.
  17. Its likely that Nvidia won't release their new 9000 cards until sometime mid to late next year. I think they boasted to release a new series every year? I'm not sure... but I think they fell behind. Or maybe they just did so good with the 8800s they just sat back and enjoyed it. Who knows... but I know this, I'll want to see benchmarks on those cards in game magazines before I buy anything. Or at least on tomshardware. I'd expect to see the cards a little after seeing specs, and benches in magazines. I don't know for sure though, its been a while since I've read anything about a nvidia card, so I could be wrong about the magazine to card release thing. as for the "SLI" thing, I don't think I'd go SLI ethier(cujos comment) to me SLI would only benefit someone who couldn't really afford a good card right away. So their card is say... 35% crappier than the 8800s. So you'd simply buy a slightly better card, or the same and in the 200 dollar range, to sli it with to make up for the performance. Thats what I thought SLI was when it came out, a better way to get out of overpaying for a video card. I wonder how two SLI cards, in the mid range, would do against a 8800 in an unbiased test. I've read a few that had a VERY SMALL disclaimer stating that one of the machines, which had totally different parts, had 1 gig of ram, while the other had 2. I over looked it the first 20 minutes I was going over and over it. I do hope they come out in November though. I go off for training and I'd REALLY love to see those specs on a quad intel when I get back. My new goal for a PC probably is much the same as yours 'keepin up with the Joneses.' I'm so far behind now... I don't even have a dual core. I plan on buying the best right out and saying "Hunny, this is it until my FPS start to suck really bad again". My goal is Best processor, best mobo, and best video card. Then i'll slowly upgrade the ram, and hard drives as needed. Maybe some raptor drives. I was going to take Cujos advice on one of my posts before but... since I got this new job, I figured might as well go ALL out on this one just this one time.

Ok... My take of facebook is its for people who don't want to look at flashy profiles. It doesn't seem to be that customizable at all. It took me forever to do things. I'd rather look at a basic myspace page with no added HTML to make it look different than to view a facebook profile. The search for friends feature is hard to use. You can't use advanced search to make searching easier outside of networks your in, it just doesn't allow it. I watched a video on Facebook vs Myspace. I laughed because it showed a nerd, and some guy dressed Goth, and thug at the same time. Cute. I think i'll stick with myspace... its customizable, and its easier to setup imo.

I just signed up for facebook... Honestly I don't like it. I think myspace is way better. I looked through about 50 or 60 profiles really quick, and they just don't have anyones that are really custom. They are all the same. I dunno, I'll keep it and see whats the big deal, just to give it a chance.

Do any of you guys use it? I use it. I think its a great place for a profile.
  22. Just look at her feet. Think of something funny and keep looking. Then think of a complex math problem and look. It seems to change when i do that. So does this make me both left and right brained?
  23. It only moves clockwise. Don't be fooled. I've been told I am left brained. Its animated to move clockwise.
  24. Even though you have that 50 dollar limit... I'd suggest the Logitech G5 or the Razor. They both are pretty much the same. They use the same laser. Its a 2000dpi mouse. I upgraded from the mx518 and I loved this G5 that I have. I paid about 60 bucks for it. I can notice the difference in DPI.. don't know if others can.
