No, that's not your sound driver. That's there to support old devices. Look down a couple where it says Realtek HD audio. That's your driver and I think it's probably on-board sound. Maybe the on-board sound got munged somehow. Try searching for Realtek sound drivers.

Don't bother fiddling with cl_upspeed. That only controls how fast you stand up or crouch. It has nothing to do with internet speeds.

Thanks for the thoughts all. I wasn't having too bad a day until I discovered that I share my b-day with Peckles. It got worse when I realized that I'm older than Peckles and Xall put together. Then Wayfarer finished it by pointing out that the 3 of us almost make a century and I realized that I got better than half that century. Time to find my teeth....oh wait, Discom found them for me.
